Fox News has refused to air an ad produced by the Center for Constitutional Rights that criticizes the Bush administration for "destroying the Constitution" by the use of renditions, torture, and other tactics. The ad, "Rescue the Constitution," which is narrated by actor Danny Glover, can be viewed here and here.
In an email provided to Media Matters for America by the Center, Fox News account executive Erin Kelly told Owen Henkel, the Center's e-communications manager, that Fox would not run the ad:
Hi Owen --
We cannot approve the spot with it being Danny Glover's opinion that the Bush Administration is destroying the Constitution. If you have documentation that it is indeed being destroyed, we can look at that.
Sorry about that,
Erin
In 2005, Fox refused to run an ad critical of then-Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito Jr., who had been nominated by President Bush to succeed retiring Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.
Have they tried the other networks? Faux News is a pathetic joke. What a shame so many sheeples tune in everyday for a fix. No wonder the US is ranked 58th for Free Press, even Israel ranks 20 nations higher on the list.
While President Bush might not read our Supreme Court legal brief or listen to the arguments in next week's case, he'll probably watch the coverage on Fox News. So we've prepared a hard-hitting commercial to show during the O'Reilly Factor. Film star and activist Danny Glover narrates a 30-second video that depicts the shredding of our Constitution
We need your help to put it on the air in Washington, D.C. - in Bush's backyard and in his bedroom.
Can you help? Please make a contribution of $20 (or more if you can) to get the ad aired on the O'Reilly Factor so we can get our message across without being interrupted! If we raise more than we need, we'll take it to other shows like The Countdown with Keith Olbermann, too.

Danny Glover targeted for political views
Danny Glover is a no good communist according to MSNBC's right-wing pundit Joe Scarborough. Scarborough is taking credit for forcing MCI to drop Glover as a spokesman because Glvoer's views are "too far to the left." Add this to the Bull Durham fiasco, and Sean Penn's claims of a new blacklist start to look pretty real. Do we only have freedom of speech if we agree with the neo- conservatives?
and predictably, at free republic
Danny Glover, outspoken Anti-American, is now a spokesman for MCI. If you're a customer, you're helping enrich him. I've been satisfied with my MCI service for 10 years and would have remained a customer...........
Thanks Kiki. Maybe I should send Danny Glover a thank-you note for all the heat he's taking for being a patriot. Our MSM is disgraceful. Always beating the messenger and ignoring the content.
Meanwhile, the majority of sheeples have no idea the hack job that's been done to our Constitution. Thanks MSM.
What a dumb piece of shit Erin is. The real reason is they refuse to air anything EVER that criticizes their dictatortot.
Fux is so through. I bet they have about half their viewers a year from now, since they are obviously a tool of the GOP. When we have them down. STOMP on their throats and break their vocal cords. Anyone who takes mercy on them is just a flat-out traitor.
Fux hates freedom, that is clear. This is just another point to prove it. Anyone who has ever watched the channel for more than five minutes knows this is true.

But they have no problem with airing adds with the opinion that Tide is better than Cheer or some other such nonsense. Then again what else did they expect to happen? Faux News is an organ of the Republicratic-Democan machine. If they want to run an add such as this they will not be able to do it on any of the three original networks or any of the news networks. The thing to do is find the most popular television show on a non-original network station and run the add there.
Then again, with the FCC having the power to take away licenses, all stations may be afraid of airing it.
If you have documentation that it is indeed being destroyed, we can look at that.
You have "looked at that" and you've decided that it's perfectly OK. Being the government butt-sniffing shills you are you will continue to decide that it is OK until the government turns on you and members of your own family. Then it will be too fucking late.

the almost amusing thing is that it was to be aired during O'REILLY'S SHOW, and they're worried about opinion vs proven fact???
At least I'm intelligent enough to not use crap like Hitlery, which exposes you as what we in the intelligent business call, technically, a fucking MORON. Go fuck yourself, idiot. Or learn English. I bet you call Arabs Islamofascists too.
