Arkansas Governer Mike Huckabee suddenly seems to be the established GOP savior. True, he is great on the stump. He is and should be a preacher. But president? NOT if you're a conservative!

Remember, a lot of Arkansans voted for a Clinton presidency so they could get him out of the state! Most of them feel as
uninspired about the Huckster. YES, I do mean Huckster.

I made a prediction a few months back, that Huckabee would get a GOP push, that he would be perfect pick to them to balance out a moderate Rudy type candidate with his southern charm and religiosity. Now, I'm convinced of it.

A wise observer stated one of Huck's problems perfectly, "Yep Huckabee is his own man alright, except when it comes to illegal immigration. Then he’s George Bush."

Huck talks some good lines on immigration in the debates, but look at some recent statements he's made. In other words, does this man stand by his own policies? One thing that has angered Arkansans is that Huck financed a Mexican Consulate in Little Rock with their tax dollars and insisted on alien children be admitted to college!

LITTLE ROCK -June 30, 2005 - In a impassioned speech before hundreds of influential Hispanic civil rights leaders from across the nation, Gov. Mike Huckabee told a captive audience Wednesday that America is great because it has always opened it doors up to people seeking a better way of life.

"I would hope that no matter who we are, or where we are from, that America should always be a place that opens its arms, opens it heart, opens its spirit to people who come because they want the best for their families ...," Huckabee said as the largely Hispanic audience gave him a standing ovation.

Huckabee was the keynote speaker, along with Tyson Foods Inc. Chairman and CEO John Tyson, at a noon luncheon of the League of United Latin American Citizens, which is holding its 76th annual convention in Little Rock.

In his opening remarks, he said the nation will need to address the concerns of the Hispanic community because of its growing influence and population base.

"Pretty soon, Southern white guys like me may be in the minority," Huckabee said jokingly as the crowd roared in laughter. He told the LULAC delegates that their presence in the state's capital city was very important because Arkansas has one of the fastest growing Hispanic populations in the nation.

"Your gathering is so very significant for our state," Huckabee said. "We are delighted to have you......"

He has compared illegal aliens to slaves brought here in chains from Africa, saying, "I think frankly the Lord is giving us a second chance to do better than we did before."

Toward that end, when an Arkansas legislator introduced a bill that would prevent illegal aliens from voting and receiving state benefits, Huckabee denounced the bill, saying it would rile up "those who are racist and bigots."

He also made the insane point that companies like Toyota would not invest in Arkansas if the state didn't allow non-citizens to vote because it would "send the message that, essentially, 'If you don't look like us, talk like us and speak like us, we don't want you.'
One other bone of contention is shown in this video, where Huckabee Calls for National Smoking Ban in Public Places. Nanny state, anyone?

Chucklebee claims to be a "minister" and yet the Bible says, "Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called." 1Cr 7:20

Maybe Chucklebee missed that verse. Ya think?

Great point my friend.

Arkansas' Huckabee, Tyson Foods, LULAC all aligned

Arkansas' governor Mike Huckabee recently spoke before the League of United Latin American Citizens convention in Little Rock. His remarks could be best characterized as far-left, pro-open borders, pro-cheap labor, churchy pap:

"Do unto others as you would have others do unto you... [...mindless blather about America welcoming immigrants deleted...]

...I am confident that our government will recognize that we should accommodate people who wish to provide the best opportunities for their families (and) employers so that we can make sure our economy has the necessary work force..."

Regarding the latter:

Before Huckabee spoke, John Tyson thanked the Hispanic community for standing by the Springdale-based food giant during the federal government's investigation of the company a few years ago. The U.S. Justice Department investigation alleged that Tyson helped to smuggle illegal aliens into the U.S. and employed them at various chicken-processing plants across the Southeast.

After a seven-week trial, Tyson and several managers of poultry processing plants were acquitted in March 2003 of those charges.

"At the time, it was a very difficult and very tough time for our company," Tyson said. "Thank you LULAC for standing by us."

Tyson is about as dirty as they come - just because they were acquitted, does not mean that they were innocent.

Arkansas Gov. Huckabee Welcomes Hispanics

“Gov. Mike Huckabee said Wednesday the nation is being given a chance to make up for past racism by the way it handles the influx of Hispanics.

Huckabee, a Republican who is considering a run for president in 2008, said Arkansas has made progress on racial justice and has a fresh opportunity to do the right thing in the way it welcomes the growing Hispanic population.”

You are much too kind but I thank you for the nice compliment (even if I didn't deserve it). I am like one of my good friends, an older guy who has been my next-door neighbor for many years. If I tell him I need to ask him something he will invariably say, "Well son, you must not need to know much."

Despite Criticism From GOP Base, Huckabee Defends His Stance On Illegal Immigration

“Anti-illegal immigration groups blasted potential Republican presidential candidate, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, for his so-called “soft-stance” on the issue, despite GOP supporters calling for tougher measures to crack down on illegal immigration.

Huckabee, who has been making waves in Republican circles over his recent surge in primary polls in Iowa, defended his stance on the issue, even if it makes him unpopular among his GOP base.”*

A wise observer stated one of Huck's problems perfectly, "Yep Huckabee is his own man alright, except when it comes to illegal immigration. Then he’s George Bush."

Huckabee is such a pathetic joke of a politician. I saw him interviewed on tee vee by Mike Wallace today. It was a toss up as to which guy represented the bigger empty suit. Sheesh.

In addition to his flip-flop stance on illegals - today Huck says he wants to build a wall on the southern border ( get tough!) but then again he says he doesn't fault the illegals for coming here for a better life for their families because he'd do the same himself huh?- and his pardoning of cretin murderous criminals and his evangelical praise the Lord phony drive-in theatre religion that he wears on his sleeve to get votes from the South, Huck can't keep his own house in order ( psycho dog-killer son that he gets off the legal hook) so why does anyone think Huck qualifies to lead this nation? Huck is only good for leading America off the precipice, from the point that dubya will her dangling in January, 2009.

Huck is a bigtime 1000% La-hoo-ser.

Frankly, I'm embarressed for the GOP. Run nobody if you want to throw the election to the Dems. But don't insult the citizenry by pretending that the Huckster and Guili4wives and The Mittster are the best shots at the White House you got.
