[JESUS IS GOD] Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isa 9:7 Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. Click for Full Text! for related Bible passages. One God Of The Whole World From the "dark ages" of Christendom, brought about by the theories and ideas of men, utter confusion has been left in the minds of people concerning the truth about one God. Without the knowledge of the truth, which only comes to an honest heart by divine revelation, many have misunderstood the manifestations of God, and have tried to form a doctrine of three Persons or Deities. Therefore, many are confused by this false, erroneous, man-made doctrine called the "Trinity". Do not take mere theories and ideas of men; learn the truth about this important subject. "Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is ONE LORD." Deut. 6:4. This commandment given to Israel is confirmed in the New Testament (Mark 12:29) and must be obeyed by all Christians today. "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well; the devils also believe, and tremble." James 2:19. "God is a Spirit..." John 4:24. "No man hath seen God at any time..." John 1:18. Jesus speaking to Phillip "He who has seen me has seen the father..." Jn:14:9. Throughout the history of man, God, the invisible Spirit, has revealed Himself to man through various manifestations. Although there have been many manifestations of God throughout the history of man, the Scriptures teach us that there are basically three offices or positions in which God has manifested himself. These three manifestations are a revelation of his plan of redemption for mankind, his authority, and his attributes. These three offices of manifestation (or attributes of his deity) are: God the Father in creation, God the Son (coming as Jesus) in redemption, and God the Holy Ghost in emanation (emanation defined as the spirit of Christ going forth) to indwell the body of the New Testament Church on the Day of Pentecost, thus sealing the promise "it is finished". This same spirit being the spirit of God dwelling in the Tabernacle of the OT. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily - Col:2:9. Until Christ fulfilled his ministry, finished his work, ascended into Glory, then sent forth his spirit, there was no fullness of the Holy Spirit to dwell in the tabernacle of men. There is now for all those who are born of his spirit, the Holy Ghost, the spirit of Christ dwelling in the tabernacle of men. JESUS IS GOD "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily" (Colossians 2:9). The fact that Jesus is God is as firmly established in Scripture as the fact that God is one. The Bible teaches that Jesus is fully God and fully man. In this chapter we will discuss the former; in Chapter 5 - THE SON OF GOD the latter. In the next few sections we will present and discuss scriptural proofs that Jesus is God, numbering them for the reader's convenience. The Old Testament Testifies That Jesus Is God 1. Isaiah 9:6 is one of the most powerful proofs that Jesus is God: "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father The Prince of Peace." The terms child and son refer to the Incarnation or manifestation of "The mighty God" and "The everlasting Father." ........ http://ourworld.compuserve.com/h...s/pentecostal/One-Ch4.htm Jhn 8:52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. If God consists of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, then doesn't that mean that Jesus if part of God rather than God? Jesus said to pray to 'Our' Father. Doesn't that mean that God is our Father as much as God is Jesus' Father?
Look again at the example again that I gave in John 8:58-59, possibly my favorite, because if you think about it, Jesus is revealing Himself in the three persons: 1) Himself, the Son in the flesh, 2) Himself the Father, the Great I AM, that spoke to Moses [tell them that I AM has sent you], and 3) the Holy Ghost that "hid" himself among these folks who KNEW THAT HE WAS DECLARING HIMSELF GOD WHEN HE SAID "BEFORE ABRAHAM WAS, I AM." [that's why they wanted to kill Him: they thought He was committing blasphemy], and "passed right through them" without them seeing HIM [edit]! How would He do that unless He became the invisible Holy Ghost? Jhn 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM. Jesus said to pray to 'Our' Father. Doesn't that mean that God is our Father as much as God is Jesus' Father? of course! Luk 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 2Cr 1:2 Grace [be] to you and peace from God our Father, and [from] the Lord Jesus Christ. http://www.blueletterbible.org/tsk_b/Luk/11/2.html 2Cr 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 2Cr 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 2Cr 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 2Cr 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you, 2Cr 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty...... http://www.blueletterbible.org/tsk_b/Luk/11/2.html Jesus is the Good Shepherd of Ezekiel 34 . I have been trying to get back on http://blueletterbible.org to search out another scripture for you since I found the above, but for some reason, I just can't get it to work. My computer is giving me fits. However, the whole purpose of Jesus' coming was to bring us back to Himself, the Father.
