Is Huckabee the Spawn of Satan?
From a Reader December 15, 2007
Rixon,
I am well aware that this article comes from a right-wing rag World Net Daily but as they say, even a broken clock is right twice a day, so don't let that faze you.
For once they've actually done a great job on this story. Turns out that Huckabee is a dirty rotten liar ---- and résumé padder. He does NOT have a theology degree, in spite of telling oodles of people in public, no less, that he does.
He only went to seminary for one year, and never got a degree. It absolutely staggers me that he would lie about something so easily checked, and also be so profoundly stupid as to think he could run for the most high-profile job on planet earth, and not have anyone check up on stuff like this.
And to lie about something that represents the absolute core of his being his faith, constitutes something doubly staggering. I seem to recall something in the bible where Jesus is quoted as saying something to the effect that Satan is the father of all lies.
Does that mean (gasp!) that Satan is Huckabee's father?
Just asking.
OK, I looked it up. John 8:44
"44Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."
Well! Since we know that the bible is not only God's unerring Word, and is also infallible, no other conclusion can be drawn. Satan is Huckabee's father.
Caveat emptor.
Ken
P.S. I decided to try to research this business about Jesus and Satan being brothers----according to Huck, that's what Mormons actually believe.
And lo and behold, look what I found. Now, I am far from being an expert on Mormonism, but since the following uses quotes taken from one of the Latter Day Saints own websites, well............ www2.arkansasonline.com/blogs/ bible-blog/2007/dec/12/huck-righ1/
"Bible Belt Blogger: Huck is right: Mormons believe Jesus, Satan are brothers by Frank Lockwood
Get ready for an uproar, folks. Mike Huckabee apparently told a New York Times reporter that Mormons believe that Jesus and Satan were brothers. The story isn't going to run until Sunday, but somebody leaked details to the Associated Press. AP has now moved a story suggesting that Huckabee's a nut and an ignoramus for making such a crazy intolerant statement. There's only problem -- Huckabee is right...
When I read the AP story, I raised my eyebrows a bit. But I decided to check the church's official website before posting anything.
I found the following mini-article, entitled "How can Jesus and Lucifer be spirit brothers when their characters and purposes are so utterly opposed?" It ran in the 1986 version of the church's official magazine, Ensign.
I'm posting the entire text, but here's one of the key lines: "Both Jesus and Lucifer were strong leaders with great knowledge and influence. But as the Firstborn of the Father, Jesus was Lucifer's older brother." Again -- the source is fairly sound. It's from the church's own website.
"How can Jesus and Lucifer be spirit brothers when their characters and purposes are so utterly opposed?"
Jess L. Christensen, "I Have a Question," Ensign, June 1986, 25-26
Jess L. Christensen, Institute of Religion director at Utah State University, Logan, Utah. On first hearing, the doctrine that Lucifer and our Lord, Jesus Christ, are brothers may seem surprising to some--especially to those unacquainted with latter-day revelations. But both the scriptures and the prophets affirm that Jesus Christ and Lucifer are indeed offspring of our Heavenly Father and, therefore, spirit brothers. Jesus Christ was with the Father from the beginning. Lucifer, too, was an angel "who was in authority in the presence of God," a "son of the morning." (See Isa. 14:12; D&C 76:25-27.) Both Jesus and Lucifer were strong leaders with great knowledge and influence. But as the Firstborn of the Father, Jesus was Lucifer's older brother. (See Col. 1:15; D&C 93:21.)
How could two such great spirits become so totally opposite? The answer lies in the principle of agency, which has existed from all eternity. (See D&C 93:30-31.) Of Lucifer, the scripture says that because of rebellion "he became Satan, yea, even the devil, the father of all lies." (Moses 4:4.) Note that he was not created evil, but became Satan by his own choice."
