I had an aquantance laugh at seeing me walk my Bridgestone MB1 mountain bike during a rare period of icy roads here in Eugene, Oregon.
He chided me saying I must of been bullshitting about knowing how to ride on snow and ice well.
Of course I pointed out then that being a good bike handler in those conditions is a moot point if the bad car drivers hit and kill you.
He conceded the point and apologized. I will not go out on icy roads with so many people who do not understnd how Newton's third law of motion -- which deals in part with how a body in motion tends to stay moving -- who could ruin my day out there.
Just got my Jeep Wagoneer's 4x4 working today, do for tomorrows supposed snow storm I'll be ready, BUT Newtons third law does little for stopping. If the snow is really heavy, the good thing is is that few people are out.
