"Truthers" love to say how most Americans don't believe the "offical story" and that many people want a new investigation. So why hasn't 9/11 "truth" gone mainstream? Why is there no action in Congress for a new investigation? Why isn't 9/11 "truth" being talked about in mainstream media outlets? Why isn't it an issue in the 2008 campaign? Where are the "Nova" and "Frontline" documentaries about 9/11? Where are the History Channel programs about 9/11 "truth?" I know the easy answer is to blame the media but if MOST Americans don't buy the "official story" the media would reflect that reality just as they reflect the public's desire for celebrity stories. If 9/11 "truth" had appeal or interest beyond society's fringe, it would show and that is the harsh reality "truthers" must face.

Patience, Clean, patience. Didn't you see Glenn Beck interviewing Ron Paul this week? He stated that 9/11 Truth is a "growing movement," and we all know Glenn wouldn't lie to us.
So because Glenn Beck says the "truth" movement is growing means it's going mainstream? Ahahahahahaha!! Glenn Beck also asked Ron Paul about some of the conspiracy theories and Ron Paul rejected them all!
What part of the numerous polls mentioned in my post above don't you understand?
Assuming they're accurate, what has happened as a result of those polls? Nothing. That's the point.
That nothing has happened proves that the Bush regime doesn't care a whit what the American people believe. But we already knew that.
In large measure, the media reflects what the public is interested in, what the public wants to see and know about. If it were not simply a fringe phenomenon, it would be reflected by the mainstream media from the networks to cable and print. If most people believed in it, it would be obvious.

War propaganda seen through the lens of popluar culture such as movies, ads, and magazine articles makes "war seem familiar and at the same time [glamorizes] it by exploiting the habits of fantasy and desire generated by mass entertainment" (103) Showing the human casualties of war are rare in pro-war propaganda, and for good reason: no one wants to be reminded of this cost while being recruited or cajoled into joining the war effort. "This filtering sought to create an impression that was positive enough to encourage further recruitment, while showing just enough of the soldiers' hardship to maintain commitment in the domestic war effort" (112). The depiction of human suffering during war has largely been reserved for anti-war campaigns.
