Prolly a hoax, I know, but still a wonderful photo eh?
My Dad bought a 1970 Challenger with the 383 Magnum new in 1970, I practically grew up in those hi-po cars. I've got a 2001 Mustang V6 which is fun to make hop around corners and stuff, but it doesn't even come close to the pure pinned back in the seat acceleration of the old big-block cars.

Until a few months ago when my Challenger six pack friend spent a gallon of gas to show me what auto acceleration was all about, I had little idea.
Scared the hell out of me really, not a sport I am used to at all.
I find it interesting to ask folks how fast they have driven.
120 - 140 on the public Hwys is what they tell me. I cannot imagine it .
I hit 90 mph on the road from Ojinaga Mexico to (i forget the name) once.
If there is a more desolate straight road that is paved in the world I will be surprised Had a view of what of must of been twenty miles of the unobstructed road. For real twenty miles.
You could have done 150 if you'd planned ahead and duct-taped over all the bumpy surfaces on the vehicle, maybe build a wing fro a styrofoam cooler lid.
Crap, now I'm channeling redneck idiocy, but at least it's raining and Van Morrison CD just came up.
