One of the venues on this 'Down to Earth' tour was a small 2000-seat theatre. I had second row seats; opening act was Ronnie Montrose's Gamma. I thought I had lost my eyebrows when the flashpots went off during Rainbow's opening number. Montrose and Blackmore...guitar hero heaven.

That first Montrose album was one of the best ever...no collection is complete without it...a very young Sammy Hagar, Denny Carmassi on drums before he moved on to Heart, and Ronnie Montrose himself...shame there's no Gamma videos out there.

'Gamma' was the second band Montrose played for...they had five albums between 1978 and 1982. No videos that I am aware of...

Don't know who Tony Bordain is, but thought you might enjoy Blackmore/Montrose vids we've collected on this thread.

I had a Bad Motor Skooter when I was 13. It was a $50 minibike, and I fell off of it once and got three stitches in my left knee. I still have the scar, although I no longer have the bike.

It had a lawnmower engine.
