A man from Portland Oregon is suing police for unlawful seizure with excessive force after officers fired a Taser and bean bag rounds at him when he refused to stop filming a warrantless search of his neighbour's property last year.

According to a report in The Oregonian, Frank Waterhouse claims that on May 27, 2006 he was brutally assaulted by police when officers followed a sniffer dog onto the property in pursuit of a fleeing suspect.

Waterhouse says that the dog keyed on a car, prompting officers to break out a window which upset residents who maintain that no one ran onto the property. It was at that point that an angry resident grabbed a video camera and started to film the police search.

The Oregonian report states:

When one woman was told to stop recording, she gave the video camera to Waterhouse. He walked to the edge of the property, climbed up a dirt embankment and continued to record. At one point, he yelled to his friend, "Yes, I got it all on film. They had no right to come on this property."

He says in the suit that police immediately came after him, and yelled at him "put it down." Officers moved towards him, and he said, "Don't come after me." Waterhouse said seconds later he was shot with a bean bag gun and a Taser and fell to the ground. Subscribe to *Jack-Booted Thugs*

Shooting back is the only response that will stifle the cops. It's a tough go but ... the same thing was happening to the colonists until they started shooting back.

"Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. The bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create money, and with the flick of the pen they will create enough deposits to buy it back again. However, take it away from them, and all the great fortunes like mine will disappear and they ought to disappear, for this would be a happier and better world to live in. But, if you wish to remain the slaves of bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create money ." --- Josiah Stamp

I agree.

Someone with less patience, or someone that was pushed too far, or someone that loses a loved one in a botched raid at a wrong address, will get the ball rolling.

The way things are now, once it gets started, it will spread like a wildfire. This country is a tinderbox, IMO.

I wouldn't be surprised if events have been suppressed. I'm surprised too that retaliation hasn't occurred.

USA Today had an article two months ago. The article cited the dramatic increase in violence against police officers( aka cops) over the past year. The conclusion was that cops need better weapons and more armor.

There can't be much question as to increased police abuse of citizens. Citizens are not likely to react violently until pushed to the brink. Blacks have been dealing with profiling and police abuses of a physical nature for an extended period making them far more inclined to take the necessary steps to halt police brutality.

Whites, of late, have been receiving similar treatment and in time will take it upon themselves to correct the "pigs". I can't wait. We'll know things have normalized when cops are afraid to get out of their squad cars and write a ticket.

Damn straight. The cops might as well have a swastika imprinted on the soles of their boots, they get unlimited support from city governments as long as the ticket fines and seized property continues to accrue.

It's as simple as that. When tyranny comes after the innocent, you have a moral duty to resist. I am ashamed of those currently occupying my former profession. Many deserve what they dish out at the very least.

The problem they are going to soon face is that they are going have to start hiding what they do for a living or move into insular enclaves for self protection - thus becoming even more isolated and hard core.

When Cops start getting assassinated by anonymous snipers we'll know we have really hit the decay point.
