Weather has a way of complicating elections, and the caucus forecast of partly cloudy, with temperatures in the teens and wind-chill values as low as 5 degrees, could tip the scales in tight races. Though a record turnout is expected and lack of snow could help rally the elderly, the indifferent and the undecided, winds and ice could still deter the oldest or frailest.
What??? This article makes it sound like people are still driving conestoga wagons. Is it really that difficult for Iowans to carry on with their daily life in the year 2008??? Is this "cold" some freak occurence that has never happened before in Iowa????? IS THE IOWA CAUCUS DOOMED TO SUFFER A DEADLY COLD SNAP THAT THREATENS THE VERY EXISTENCE OF CIVILIZATION???

Exactly...that's a good old fashioned warm spell for Iowa this time of year...temps actually a bit ABOVE normal. Paul supporters will have to win without the help of Old Man Winter.
