Nobody gave Huckabee a snowball's chance a week ago. Then TwentyTwelve was right. It was written a month ago!! More than likely. No one else could be convincingly promoted to winner in Iowa as it is a Bible Belt State. Certainly not Ghouliani. None of the others really. Romney? A Mormon in Southern Baptist territory? I don't think so. Not even if he gave away his holy underwear. CFRed was a loser except with the 'bots. No, I am sure there were some major shenanigans with the vote. It will be interesting to see what the Poll Watchers and Vote Canvassers have to report in the morning. Paul himself was not optimistic on Iowa. Take a reasonable showing and go with it. New Hampshire will go a long ways to setting Pauls future effort.

FORMER Paul actually WON Jefferson County (the smart Iowans, apparently); but the totals haven't been tallied yet. (It was around 400...won't help him catch McCain/Thompson, but might boot him to 11%.) A couple of other counties out that way missing, as well.

I fully intend to be the first Freedom4um to post from Fiji, and maybe Australia. I'll be spending just a few hours at Nadi (Fiji) on the way in to Brisbane the Gold Coast, but on the out bound trip I'll have six nights in Fiji. About a one month trip. From what my research indicates, freedom4um needs to buy a few acres of land in Fiji and set up a freedom colony. Yertle Turtle knows how to live in tree stumps and has an excellent retirement plan so I suggest he be the leader of the colony. I will post my experiences from the other hemisphere, I do have alot of family that I have treated very well in the US when they have visited, so I think I will be treated nicely.

Cyni, I have to think about this whole caucus thing. It absolutely makes no sense and never did, but it exists. I am thinking that Iowa is not really a state of 'our' union. There has to be an actual REASON, why such a goofy charade, exists. Maybe they are a colony of DC? Strange, but onward.

One should remember that Bush has a 70 PER CENT approval rating in Iowa...that is WAY out of sync with the rest (normal) part of the country. For Paul to finish just 2% out of THIRD in a state like that is actually quite the accomplishment!
New Hampshire will go a long ways to setting Pauls future effort. I thought he would truly rattle the house in Iowa. I didn't realize it was a nut-house. But he showed up, as did our wonderful young 'Vacation in Iowa' kids, and God Bless them, they tried. I'm not comfortable painting Iowans or any state with a broad brush. But, a bat would be fine.
I think he told the Iowans at the straw poll that he wasn't for corn subsidies. What we're seeing here could be a reaction to that.

I take it "they" are American voters. With that attitude we will be losing elections far past my demise. The American people vote with their hearts and their pocketbooks. The typical voter is not a political junkie. He/she is wary of anger and quick fixes. Right now he/she is disatisfied and wants change. The typical Ron Paul supporter is angry (and I am one of them) and demanding change. The majority of Americans are resistant to and fearful of radical change (i.e. quick fixes) otherwise we would have gone even further left during the Great Depression. I'm not suggesting that we should not have pushed for a "revolution", just that we should go hunting with a rifle and not a blunderbuss. The campaign so far has had as its focus converting America to libertarianism, not winning a national election. The result, if we fail to regroup, will be losing on both counts.
Republicans (Democrats for that matter) ....... HAD ENOUGH?
