NH GOP drops sponsorship of FOX debate Email|Link By James Pindell January 5, 2008 11:26 AM

The New Hampshire Republican Party dropped their affiliation with a Republican debate sponsored by Fox News tomorrow night because they have limited the number of candidates that can participate.

“The first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary serves a national purpose by giving all candidates an equal opportunity on a level playing field," said Republican chair Fergus Cullen. "Only in New Hampshire do lesser known, lesser funded underdogs have a fighting chance to establish themselves as national figures."

The Fox debate is excluding Texas Congressman Ron Paul even though he polls higher in New Hampshire and has raised significantly more money, and is campaigning more in New Hampshire than Fred Thompson who is invited.

They should have added as an explanation why Fox omitted Paul was because Thompson made a pilgrimage to Tel Aviv, Paul did not.

I read that Rassmussen Reports currently has Dr. Paul in 3rd place in NH ( hurray!) behind The Mittster and McCain, but leading The Huckster!!!!!

McCain 31%, Romney 26%, Ron Paul 14%, Huckabee 11%

I tried to post from Rasmussen directly but the site went down.

The citizens of NH are ornery by temperament, thats the Yankee way, and they will not be stampeded by the MSM.

Regardless of how Paul does in votes, percentages etc etc, it will be more interesting to see the information provided by the number crunchers and bean counters. It is very important to compare voters vs prior primaries, and where they went. Many trends can be ascertained with honest appraisal of the numbers.

Easy on that Yankee way stuff I have concerns that the recent attack on Paul by "so called conservatives" was based on his statement about Lincoln the icon of said party of Lincoln....Like Jesse James I don't trust Yankees!

You know better than that ... generalizations are pointless ... I was born a Yankee, but have lived somewhere south of the Mason-Dixon most of my life. I like the South better, in most cases the people are more civil/genteel.

:-) Although I often make take digs at my Yankee friends it is true that the pain of the civil war still remains and I knew as soon as Paul took on Lincoln in a question about the war that Yankee pride was taken aback and so they attacked not on anything based on fact rather the idol status given there icon....for many years I defended Cecil John Rhodes the founder of my country until I discovered what a jerk he was it was not pleasant to tear down a icon and admit one was wrong

When one realizes on their own that one of the most ardent supporters of Lincoln was Karl Marx, then you have to rethink all you were told.

Marx waxed ecstatic when Abe threw people in prison with no recourse and even tried to jail one member of the SC.
