Pop the corn and spike the punch. Let the fun begin.
McCain really shot himself in the foot by referring to his good compadre, Joe Liarman, and how they see eye to eye on illegal immigration. What a moron - this is the GOP debate. McCain is getting senile.
I can't stand JulieJudy's New Yark accent. He doesn't even sound American. I can't see him wooing anyone outside New York and Florida.
So fast and it's over! Dr. Paul had maybe 2 or 3 brief opportunities to respond to questions.
Now Charlie wants all the Dem and GOP candidates to greet each other on stage. Funny!

Hugs and kisses time.
Did you notice Dr Paul was talking to Gov Richardson? I guess he didn't want Hillary to hug him.
"Most of the trouble in this world has been caused by folks who can't mind their own business, because they have no business of their own to mind, any more than a smallpox virus has." - William S Burroughs
the mittster just defended big pharma. that's a winning soundbite.
I just tuned in after watching the redskins lose :( and these guys aren't cheering me up
The Mittster really screwed himself on that position! Is he so removed from "the little people" living in his Mormon Mansion and dealing with his Corporate CEO pals at cocktail parties, that he doesn't know Big Pharma is hated almost as much as Big Bankers. What an a**!
Mittster also muddled himself on the Iran and nuclear weapons. He called Iran Iraq to begin with and then he started calling Iran Iran but went off the reservation on how the USA could twist Iran's arm to comply with our ( ie. Israel's)demands. He talked about cutting off Iran from natural gas (???) Say what??? Russia and Iran have the world's 2 largest natural gas reserves. Then Mittster really sticks his face in the cow pie of ignorance - he preens on his "insider" info regarding Iran - he says that Iran sits on a sea of oil ( I thought he'd have an orgasm at the thought of this image) but then he says - little do people know but Iran is dependent on outside sources for natural gas. Rigghhhtt...think again, Mittster - it's the USA that is dependent on outside sources for natural gas - we get our natural gas from Canada. What a fool.

Sorry about the Redskins. I can't stand Seattle. They won the game but if it's any consolation, Seattle will lose at the next level. They're known to be chokers. he, he

I think the little people are aliens to mitt. seriously. his whole attitude is patrician and condescending. he also has a smirk, and I for one can't take eight more years of smirking.

I'm with you there! The Mittster thinks his patrician self is destined for the Oval Office. His father tried and failed but Mittster probably secretly believes he's superior to his Dad. What an arrogant jerk!

I'm having a flashback to 2000.
His father tried and failed (removing saddam, getting re-elected) but shrub probably secretly believes he's superior to his Dad. What an arrogant jerk!
we've all been suffering through somebody's daddy issues. the white house isn't a big couch.
Thank you for the link Peppa, I clicked it on and voted for Ron Paul He is winning! Love, Palo
Thanks Palo.
It's interesting to watch a local (yet across the country from the primary) poll while this debate is going on. Very Good so far! Thanks sweet Palo, for voting!
You're right. I just verified that on wiki. George Romney was born in Mexico. Why did the GOP allow him to even get into the race to try to win the GOP Pres ticket? How bizarre!
thanks Brian, I would not have known about the debate if I hadn't been on the forum when you posted it is on now I went in and watched it I am glad I did not miss it
Ron Paul was excellent!
Thank you ALL for letting me part of your forum now that the elections have started I really appreciate it I am learning so much from all of your posts I love working with all of you to put Ron Paul in our Oval Office this time next year God bless you all Love, Palo
Isn't today the Wyoming Primary, I wonder how Ron Paul did?
We are in deep trouble here. Republican fat cats are all for more and more war, refuse to deal with illegal immigration, and are interested in expanding federal influence into every aspect of our lives. Did you all hear Huckabee's talk on what to do about health care? I couldn't make sense out of it, but he apparently wants to use the Federal government to implement PREEMPTIVE CARE.
PREEMPTIVE CARE is like PREEMPTIVE WAR in terms of civil liberties.
Immigration is the worst of all. Huckabee was tough, but not believable. Romney is tough, but unbelievable. The others are just edging around the problem, defending the status quo.
Now that I'm watching the Dem side of the debate, I'm sure that we're trapped between a rock and a hard place.
Hi Peppa I appreciate you gave me the link to vote It is so exciting to go over to the Iowa Newspaper and they ask "who do you want to be President of USA now" and I marked Ron Paul amd then they show the results and Ron Paul is coming in first it gave me such a lift! Love, Palo
has the rest of the forum gone over and voted yet?
thanks for letting me know, Who Knows Did Ron have a good showing there?
It will be interesting to see who Ron has to beat to win the ticket whether it will be Romney or Huckabee I had always thought it would be Romney, but after Iowa I thought maybe Huckabee In any case Ron will win the ticket at the end Love, Palo

Palo,
I recieved an email of this poll, and decided to post it.
Any that you find, please ping me. I'll vote too.
Since there is no nationwide advertising that I've seen at this point, I think we can help do our part by choosing to get our voice heard.
Others can participate as they see fit.
4um NH ad to hit tomorrow right? This is exciting.
I missed some of the debate because I muted it so I could pray for Ron Paul while he was speaking What did you think of his answers? I've read the whole thread, but no one has yet commented on what Ron Paul said I am so curious what everyone thought of his answers, since I missed hearing some of them due to praying for him lol I'm not a nut, I just seem like one :) Love, Palo
I saw a contretemps between Ron Paul and Rudy, but I was praying so hard for Ron Paul during it, I didn't get to hear the content of it I am sure it must be foreign policy?
He was defensive, RUSHED, and reactive rather than proactive. He let the powerful men in the room push him down. But as Cynicom and who knows what evil have said, he did not compromise himself, and he was probably tired.
I thought there were several times when he could have gone on the attack, could have been proactive, could have anticipated the attacks, but he failed to do that.
I agreed with him on most things, but he lost the ball on immigration because he failed to demonstrate that he is actually tougher on immigration than most of the others are. He also failed to articulate his health care policy. It's hard to articulate nothing, which is what we need to do a lot more of. But he needs to find a positive way to say that the federal government should do nothing.
I also think that the 9/11 issue of why the multi-billion dollar defense budget could not defend us on that day, was left out. Ron Paul was quick to say he was tougher on defending America, but he did not say how. He needs to get to the how part a lot faster.
He's losing support on inability to articulate why his positions are better on defense and illegal immigration, and why America would thrive with more freedom.

That's my perspective.
You are a peach to write me a full report like that I wanted to hear all Illegal immigration is not an issue for me, so whatever he said on that is fine with me I'll have to watch whole thing over again, with sound on all the time Romney's health care plan, just put into law in Massachusetts, is cruel The State fines you $100/month if you don't purchase health insurance They deprive you of freedom I have never bothered to purchase health insurance, I am always healthy If I were in Mass. I would no longer have a choice LOL this is a scam to enrich the health insurance compnaies
I have a hunch Ron Paul did better than you report It is OK he was not aggressive, everything depends on the content of his answers I love you Palo
I want to gauge against how the CFR Brothers did as well.
The moderator said we would all come together in 2009 with a new President as a nation. How can we, when the CFR is behind most of the people we see in these debates?
and condescending. he also has a smirk, and I for one can't take eight more years of smirking.
Good Lord, I can't take the smirking any longer. Matter a fact I am inclined to deny any of the Ivy college graduates from even being considered from political office as I view them as Tainted with the Empire of Arrogance.
Which is going to eventually kill a whole lot of our citizens - if ya care to look ya can see it coming.
a. Did you all hear Huckabee's talk on what to do about health care? I couldn't make sense out of it, but he apparently wants to use the Federal government to implement PREEMPTIVE CARE. PREEMPTIVE CARE is like PREEMPTIVE WAR in terms of civil liberties.
b. Immigration is the worst of all. Huckabee was tough, but not believable. Romney is tough, but unbelievable. The others are just edging around the problem, defending the status quo.
a. Not only is pre-emptive care useless -if you're born with the cancer gene or acquire heart disease, no annual physicals or free flu shots are going to prevent the onset of very very serious life threatening diseases. You'll just pay higher taxes so the illegals and unmarried pregnant ladies can have free prenatal care. And additionally you'll get into the larger pool of free preventative care folks and all of you will be in line to see the same small number of gate-keeper GP's - them for their free prenatal vitamins and you to get referred to an oncologist to get that lump checked out and the then you get segued into another queue for the oncologist. Pre-emptive health care is great if you are earning less than 3X the poverty level ( illegals automatically qualify) and are very young or are in excellent health.
What Romney and the Huckster and McCain were avoiding saying was that the middle class, under their "everybody has health insurance" plans, get the pleasure of paying higher taxes to get less health care. The only ones who win are under these politicians' plans are the lower economic group and illegals - they contribute little income tax and have nothing to lose and everything to gain. But because there are greater numbers of voters in the lower economic groups, these pols are of course appealing to the masses for their votes, not to the tax-payers who are going to get it in the neck for this nonsense. Think of Huckster's plan as an HMO for all at PPO prices for you.
What's sickening is that none of these political punks mentioned tort reform in conjunction with their grandiose health care plans - most of them apart from Dr. Paul and McCrazy are lawyers, that's why. McCain is a professional veteran and the best friend of Joe Lieberman. I don't know what actual academic credentials that idiot has.
b. The only 2 people who were pro-American in their illegal immigrants position were Dr. Paul and Fred Thompson. The others were dancing and flip-flopping all over the place. When JudyJulie - he of 3 or 4 wives - started slinging the "compassionate" crap, and the other losers were nodding along with him, I knew Americans would be screwed bigtime under anyone of those sold out jerks.
I hope the NH folks saw through the lies and smoke screens of the GOP hucksters. I can't bear to watch the Dems' debate. It will be more of we'll give you all this and gov't should deliver that...and all I'll be seeing is $ flying out of my wallet as they speak.
So,to be honest about 'how he did', I want to gauge against how the CFR Brothers did as well.
I am confident his answers were solid, but was it a DEBATE? I'll watch.
I am very interested in what everyone else thought as well
thanks Peppa, Yes I am same as you I tune out all the others, I only want to hear what Ron Paul says in the past debates I watched, I listened intently to every word he said this time I decided to lend him support via prayer I figured I'll find out later what he said when you listen to your tape please tell me all your impressions just in case I don't get to see the debate in rerun thank you Love, Palo
I did concentrate visually as I was praying for him and I can give a visual report he looked relaxed, serious, lovely and there was a statesman-like quality about him what I mean is, he acted like this all matters and is real and he is serious about it
Illegal immigration is not an issue for me, so whatever he said on that is fine with me
Oh, I'm not trying to change your mind there. But it's the main reflection of why we've lost representation in government. Most middle class Americans do care about it a great deal. They see that their concern is being ignored. None of the men on that stage adequately reflected that concern. Ron Paul also failed to articulate how he would address the concerns better than others. (Although I think his solutions proposed outside the debate are likely to be the most effective.)
Loss of representation on a variety of issues is why Americans are truly searching for change.
Huckabee and to a lesser extent, Obama, both carried through on their articulation of a promise to deliver change. We know we can't believe in them, or their messages.
Ron Paul lost a grip on his own message, I think because unlike us, his close supporters weren't paying attention to the winner acceptance speeches in Iowa.
I have a hunch Ron Paul did better than you report
His Internet base will love him. He needs to reach beyond that, across the gulf, to the non-Internet folks. He's not carrying that off yet. He did worse than usual, perhaps due to fatigue tonight. The rules were unspoken: the toughest guys got to talk. Ron Paul wasn't tough enough tonight.
Paul is listed as a guest on Monday night's show with Jay Leno. Is this a NEW appearance, or a rerun of the previous appearance? Anyone know?
That is great news, Who Knows I will watch it, Monday night, perfect I don't know if this is rerun of his last visit or new one but I missed the last one, so I will watch it Love, Palo
When is the New Hampshire primary, does this come on before it? that would be good, no?
The moderator said we would all come together in 2009 with a new President as a nation. How can we, when the CFR is behind most of the people we see in these debates?
In FEMA camps.
I'm a little in a reactive mood now, so the first thing that ticks me off is that WE say that RP MUST articulate FASTER. NO. These debates limit time to keep the DEVIL from being seen in the details. WE need healthcare, but the devil says, it will be paid by taxpayers, and the GOVERNMENT will decide who gets what care, when and you citizens go to the back of the line, and you military are just dragging down the party. And Health Freedom? FDA poison is good enough for you. Food Safety? We hate to see a mass outbreak of ecoli, but you know you must appreciate how free trade keeps our economy healthy. Understand serf, your health is not important.
These things, CAN'T be done in a sound bite. And RP could easily say, ASK THE MIDDLE CLASS AMERICAN how easy it is to pay and more importanly NAVIGATE the system we have NOW. Who benefits, BIG PHARMA. Can you go 15 minutes watching the tube without a company pushing their drugs? No.
Anyway, I am reacting, rather than being objective. So I really want sit a few and watch again.
Somewhere here, we need to meet in a place where RP throws the strike 3 times.
I'll have to find a video clip of the debate and listen to it again. I thought Ron Paul didn't have much opportunity to speak but you're saying he did not seek out the opportunities more aggressively and also when he was asked to contribute he did not have much content in his remarks. Interesting.
