The problem with the Paul campaign is its supporters. Most people want to back a "winner" at all costs; they don't understand what it means to run a marathon or what it is to vote your principles.
Watch for evaporation and people switching loyalties for 'instant gratification' - note that money is now flowing to Huckabee for this reason.
The lie of "You're wasting your vote!" is just that. Its a lie. The odds of your vote actually counting (read: deciding an election) is 8x10^50:1 against. You've got better odds of winning the lottery every day for a year than having your vote decide an election.
I was more than upset when he walked away and left us with nothing.
I'm still wanting to know why that went down as it did. The best I can figure, he wasn't quite ready for the microscope and threats that come with a presidential run.
Other people think it was a conspiracy to put Clinton into the White House. I haven't seen any evidence of that.
The Reform Party was a great idea. Its a shame it completely fell apart.
After seeing the Paul Wellstone "plane crash" and the more recent Paul Gillmor (R OH) "death from "falling down the stairs" immediately after the both publically spoke against the war in Iraq, I don't doubt for a moment that Perot had credible threats levelled against his family. What would you do? What would Ron Paul do?
