The problem with the Paul campaign is its supporters. Most people want to back a "winner" at all costs; they don't understand what it means to run a marathon or what it is to vote your principles.
Watch for evaporation and people switching loyalties for 'instant gratification' - note that money is now flowing to Huckabee for this reason.
The lie of "You're wasting your vote!" is just that. Its a lie. The odds of your vote actually counting (read: deciding an election) is 8x10^50:1 against. You've got better odds of winning the lottery every day for a year than having your vote decide an election.
After seeing the Paul Wellstone "plane crash" and the more recent Paul Gillmor (R OH) "death from "falling down the stairs" immediately after the both publically spoke against the war in Iraq, I don't doubt for a moment that Perot had credible threats levelled against his family. What would you do? What would Ron Paul do?
Being older than Paul, I can tell you that with age, many fears are cast aside, and that what once mattered, no longer is significant.. One becomes more resolute, willing to take up a fight to the bitter end.
There will perhaps come a time in this election when to remove Paul would be a fatal mistake for the system.
