If Ron is only getting 10% of the R votes in an open primary, what's that say about his chances in winning as an independent?

Very little but I didn't want to be so blunt and not give some hope.

Ron Paul will never be President of these United States.

Sorry but it 'is what it is'.

I was one of the first to 'lock on' to RP back some 2 years ago and initiated the ping list on this forum around that time.

I'm disappointed but there is only so much one can do before they have to except reality.

I would love to be wrong and have all of you 'shove this post down my throat', indeed.

Never swear "allegiance" to anything other than the 'right to change your mind'!

CNN just reported that the college towns have not been counted yet.

Unfortunately, Guiliani won polls conducted at UNH and Dartmouth.

Until you get a gun safe you can always put it on top of the slats (in a slipcase) of the box springs of your bed.

A good revolver is a little handier, I'm thinking a stainless steel S&W 686 in .357 Magnum.

Palo...

My estimation Paul needed a good to excellent showing in NH. He needed to out poll Huckabee.

To me the message is perfect, the sheep do not know the name of the messenger, ...

you have the oddest kind of brilliance
it is so interesting to me
you have some talent to get your finger right on it
they are not sheep, they are our fellow citizens, they do have minds
the media has worked very hard so they would not know the name of the messenger,
but they will

you have named the problem and solution perfectly
all we need to do is get out the name of the real messenger
and we will have won it

Love, Palo

I think as an independent he could build the 10% to 30% by just sitting on the sideline and keeping his mouth shut. Pick up the the people as Hillary and McCain expose each other.

Careful work could bring it to 40%. And that's all you need to win in this type of three way race. I think Clinton pulled 43% against Bush I.

Excellent advice!

$600 is a fair price, depending on brand, and for home defence you're much better off with a 12-ga. riot gun ($200-250), as it won't over-penetrate and every burglar knows the "chuck-chuck" sound of a 12 ga.(pump - especially the Win '97) being racked.

lol Brian it is a little too early to throw in the towel
let's not forget we did win the American revolution
and everything looked black at the start

I actually read Tom Paine's letter when he got home that night from the first battle with the British
everything looked so black he searched and searched his mind for hope
he could not find any
and finally he said "I know God will not let us down," that was his only source of hope

The Clinton / Obama thing has really narrowed of the past 20 minutes. But even if she loses, she's close enough to stay in the race.

Obama will clobber her in South Carolina though. Lots of black folks there. It will be interesting to see how effective Obama is at pulling them out to vote.

Oye vey! What has happened to intelligensia, free thinkers, predictable anti- war bloc voters who used to occupy college campuses?

Hello potential cannon fodder - JudyJulie is a dubya clone!

Ron Paul is the only candidate in either party to take a position against conscription and against SS registration both of which should be very important considerations for, at the very least, the male gender college students.

Honestly -these students are behaving like suicidal lemmings if they support warhawk Guiliani.

A good revolver is a little handier, I'm thinking a stainless steel S&W 686 in .357 Magnum.

I have a waterbed, but the point is that I only want a gun to ward off intruders. Once they wake me any gun I own may as well be locked in safety deposit box downtown, unless it's within reach when I wake up.

Maybe I should just hang tea-bags labelled "crack" from the cedar tree in my front yard.

This is the best part of the Ron Paul campaign for me: to see so many people expressing their commitment to restoring freedom in America. The fires of liberty are being reignited all over the country. More fires will be lit from those, and so on. At least many people understand what has been lost, and want it back more than anything else.

Well, so far only 2 states have spoken. If there can be a big difference between Iowa and NH with the Huckster and McBomb, then there is room for some hope that RP can do much better in other states. Obviously we were hoping better from the LFoD state which is also supposed to be the beneficiary of the free state project, but....

And then there's the message that may succeed if the messenger does not. Did 10% get the message loud and clear?

Ron Paul should have come in at 16 per cent

I'm not going to make a fuss about it

If this is true, it is something to keep in our minds
