Well the shills certainly seem pretty proud of themselves. They've done a good job at guaranteeing Hillary's coronation, or Obama's landslide victory.

It is gross contradiction that a preacher does well and two war mongers do very well, that is in both pub and dem. How can a segment vote for a man of peace and a war monger that wants to invade Iran or whoever is available. To me it is not intelligent thinking by all of them.

Perhaps you watched Paul on Leno last nite. Leno asked the question of who would Paul pick of the others for his VP... I meant to watch Leno last night, I don't know what happened IMHO Ron Paul would not pick any of the others to be his VP How did Ron answer that question?
It'll be much more difficult to do nationwide what they could have done in the small state of NH.

Many years ago, it was foretold by economists that a massive generation gap would emerge. It is happening now. The youth know that we older people are going to cost them given our present system of entitlements. This is a form of slavery they see coming, and they are right to vote against it. Older people should recognize its inherent unfairness, as well. This may need to be spoken to reach the generation that voted for Mccain and Clinton in NH.

How did Ron answer that question? RP was polite - as I recall he said the current crop of GOP candidates would have to change their positions considerably but if any of them became more in sync with RP's positions he'd give those candidates consideration - RP said for example he tried to educate Rudy about foreign policy issues by recommending various books but thusfar Rudy did not seem to available himself of RP's reading list so RP did not seem hopeful about the others either.
My thinking... Paul would do well to announce to the grassroots and to the public that he is in this to the bitter end, win lose or draw, via the pub party or via a third party. That automatically defeats the republican warmonger. I would much rather be one of 30 million voters for Paul in a third party race than sit at home doing nothing. Perot garnered 20 million and Paul can do better. Before vast waves the white flag whining Paul wont win, I wont to say no kidding, how observant of you.

I saw it and I thought Leno asked if he'd be willing to be VP if asked by another candidate. I don't remember Leno asking who Ron would choose.

And now for the bad news about the "new generation" at least in NH - a poster here said the college students in NH had picked Rudy Giuliani as their favorite GOPer in poll. I'm not sure if the poll was reflected in how the votes went tonight in NH college towns.

It might be a bit too early to expect that RP has received any firm committments from people he has contacted. I did not mind the way he handled that question - he made a few jokes - and I think it went over well. But the part that troubled me in the Leno interview was when Jay asked RP if he were forced to vote for a Dem candidate who would he choose based on positions that were close to his own and RP said Dennis Kucinich. And RP then quickly qualified his choice by saying Kucinich and he were both anti-Iraq War but they were very far apart on domestic policies. However, I'm not sure if anyone kept listening to RP's qualification ( except for devoted RP supporters like me) after they heard him pick Kucinich as being closest to him in policy positions - it was the end of the interview with a lead into a commercial break. If I were RP, I would have just said I don't see any Dem candidate that reflects my constitutionally based positions. But for RP to pick a statistical last place loser of a Dem candidate ie. Kucinich, who is also so left wing he almost falls off the charts was most unfortunate. In fact, if I were an undecided NH independent and heard RP basically aligning himself with a) a loser and b) a far left socialist - I would have been very turned off. Americans like winners generally speaking and NH itself is not a hotbed of socialism. That particular response did not help RP at all imo.

palo verde: thank you for your informative post on this Scrapper this one I see the opposite of you, I think Ron Paul answered that question perfectly God I love that guy he's so perfect in every way Love, Palo Maybe I'm being to overly sensitive to political perceptions that result from something that might not have much significence one way or another. RP appeals to a broad cross section of supporters. So maybe there are some supporters who think Kucinch is not so bad. However, I'm more of a paleo-conservative with a sprinkle of libertarian and consequently I projected how I would interpret RP's choice - which was to have my hair stand on end. A guy like Kucinich - a bigtime nanny statist who believes in redistribution of wealth so everyone can be equally miserable -is the absolute worst candidate in the 2 parties combined from my perspective. Kucinich stands for everything I loathe. His anti-Iraq War position is the exception but even that does not make up for all of Kucinich's negatives.
I think that was possible before 9/11. Even Bush ran on no national building.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, although many of the other candidates had local town hall meetings in NH, I'm not aware of any that Ron Paul's campaign organized, except for the one last Sunday in a small TV studio.
