He doesn't suck up to the Israeli Lobby.

I think it should be clear by now that Goldi-Putz cares more about the Israeli Police State than a free American Republic.

I told them the choice was theirs. If the donations start dropping off there will be questions asked and the "grassroots" will receive the blame.

You did excellent, you have to mention money to get their full attention
because they are overly excited about the money

and what they need are good ideas!
and you and Former Lurker and others have come up with top notch ideas for them

Perhaps you watched Paul on Leno last nite.

Leno asked the question of who would Paul pick of the others for his VP...
That to me seemed to be a planted question by Paul and very interesting.
I just cannot figure out what was the purpose.

I meant to watch Leno last night, I don't know what happened

IMHO Ron Paul would not pick any of the others to be his VP

How did Ron answer that question?

i don't believe for one moment that they did.

Many years ago, it was foretold by economists that a massive generation gap would emerge. It is happening now. The youth know that we older people are going to cost them given our present system of entitlements. This is a form of slavery they see coming, and they are right to vote against it. Older people should recognize its inherent unfairness, as well. This may need to be spoken to reach the generation that voted for Mccain and Clinton in NH.

RP was polite - as I recall he said the current crop of GOP candidates would have to change their positions considerably but if any of them became more in sync with RP's positions he'd give those candidates consideration - RP said for example he tried to educate Rudy about foreign policy issues by recommending various books but thusfar Rudy did not seem to available himself of RP's reading list so RP did not seem hopeful about the others either.

My thinking...

Paul would do well to announce to the grassroots and to the public that he is in this to the bitter end, win lose or draw, via the pub party or via a third party.

That automatically defeats the republican warmonger.

I would much rather be one of 30 million voters for Paul in a third party race than sit at home doing nothing.

Perot garnered 20 million and Paul can do better.

Before vast waves the white flag whining Paul wont win, I wont to say no kidding, how observant of you.

so my best response is to come back stronger, no? Of course it is palo, but with the machines in SC more than likely rigged, I won't hold my breath for good results there..

we'll see
I was so idealistic and naive about New Hampshire and look what they did
voter fraud on Ron Paul
ya know the original AP report about keeping Ron Paul out of the Fox debate
said it was the decision of the NH GOP
notice how 2 days before the Fox debate, the NH GOP took that "principled stand" to disavow the debate
I bet the New Hampshire GOP had figured out how to work the fraud
and then could "afford" to be so "noble"
"Let Ron Pual be in the debate" they said

South Carolina may be honest, just as Iowa was
I pray so

If I were Paul I would have me a bright young man as VP and announce it NOW. Someone that is known and good at public speaking and turn him lose.

It might be a bit too early to expect that RP has received any firm committments from people he has contacted. I did not mind the way he handled that question - he made a few jokes - and I think it went over well.

But the part that troubled me in the Leno interview was when Jay asked RP if he were forced to vote for a Dem candidate who would he choose based on positions that were close to his own and RP said Dennis Kucinich. And RP then quickly qualified his choice by saying Kucinich and he were both anti-Iraq War but they were very far apart on domestic policies. However, I'm not sure if anyone kept listening to RP's qualification ( except for devoted RP supporters like me) after they heard him pick Kucinich as being closest to him in policy positions - it was the end of the interview with a lead into a commercial break.

If I were RP, I would have just said I don't see any Dem candidate that reflects my constitutionally based positions. But for RP to pick a statistical last place loser of a Dem candidate ie. Kucinich, who is also so left wing he almost falls off the charts was most unfortunate. In fact, if I were an undecided NH independent and heard RP basically aligning himself with a) a loser and b) a far left socialist - I would have been very turned off. Americans like winners generally speaking and NH itself is not a hotbed of socialism.

That particular response did not help RP at all imo.

Maybe I'm being to overly sensitive to political perceptions that result from something that might not have much significence one way or another.

RP appeals to a broad cross section of supporters. So maybe there are some supporters who think Kucinch is not so bad.

However, I'm more of a paleo-conservative with a sprinkle of libertarian and consequently I projected how I would interpret RP's choice - which was to have my hair stand on end.

A guy like Kucinich - a bigtime nanny statist who believes in redistribution of wealth so everyone can be equally miserable -is the absolute worst candidate in the 2 parties combined from my perspective. Kucinich stands for everything I loathe. His anti-Iraq War position is the exception but even that does not make up for all of Kucinich's negatives.

I'm stunned.

Indeed.

I am equally stunned by Hillary's amazing 180 over Obama. Furthermore, I'm stunned by the massive "turnout" of Democrat voters. Both occurring in a state generally considered to be more conservative than Iowa.

I quite seriously believe that many of these Hillary voters were switchover Republicrats who believe Hillary is the most beatable in the final go round.

These are the masses of voters who live and die by casting their lesser-of-two-evils vote every four years. I call them the Superbowl voters who treat politics as some kind of mindless our "team" must win at any cost woodenheads.

American politics has become so full of such inanities that we face tremendous obstacles in our crusade for a return to a sane political arena.

we'll see what happens
I posted on this thread till late at night last night
I fell asleep instant head hit pillow
and instantly I dreamt I was in a big room where everyone was wildly cheering
and jumping uo and down, because our team won the game
some sports game
but when I opened my eyes to interpret the dream it hit me in the face
"our team won!" -- it is referring to our team behind Ron Paul

the only reason vote fraud in New Hampshire matters, is in how we interpret the results of the election
if he had actually gotten 8 per cent, it would not be encouraging
but if he got 18 percent it is very encouraging
it means Ron Paul came in third
which I think is exactly what happened

plus actions have results, when NH voters discover their votes weren't counted
which isn't that hard to find out
they can easily find out how many Meet Up members are in each town
how many people contributed money in each town
and between the two of them compile a solid list of Ron Paul voters
and compare it to the vote tally for that town

when there are hard facts, we'll see what happens next

I don't think we should count on the media for anything

but I never did from the start fo the campaign

I know this was grass-roots all the way

and we will previal

all my love, Palo

notice that what Ron polled at in Iowa is what he got
Iowa had honest election
what he polled at in New Hampshire, he got half

If RP's staff doesn't wake up or shake up, the money will dry up. Two months of freezing your butt off for a Keystone Cop run campaign, hardly sustains and builds further on a grassroot base. Some of which as we know, quit their jobs, to devote to RP's success. Voter fraud was a known threat already, so I am hoping some went in with open eyes. However, Ron's staff appears to be comprimised and heads must roll.

I am equally stunned by Hillary's amazing 180 over Obama. Furthermore, I'm stunned by the massive "turnout" of Democrat voters. Both occurring in a state generally considered to be more conservative than Iowa.

I perceived NH to be the same way as you, iconoclast, but we were both wrong. The demographics of the state has changed and along with it came a change in the state's politics.

There are more nanny state benefit dependents than independents in NH and they all came out to vote for the candidate who will most likely continue to deliver or enhance their bennies.

I found this analysis quite telling:

www. cbsnews.com/stories/2...olitics/main3689566.shtml

"Why Clinton Won: Women, Labor Households And Low-Income Voters Bring N.Y. Senator N.H. Victory"

...Clinton held her own among late deciders, beating back the Obama surge and winning courtesy of a significant Granite State gender gap and support from other traditional wings of the Democratic Party.

The Coalitions

New Hampshire women went big for Clinton, supporting her 46 percent to 34 percent for Obama. And as 57 percent of the Democratic primary electorate, women were enough to make the difference. Among men, Obama turned the tables, beating Clinton 40 percent to 29 percent. In third place, John Edwards received 19 percent of the male vote and 15 percent of women's votes.

Clinton pulled together a traditional coalition of Democratic voters for this victory - labor households, voters with relatively low incomes and education, and, of course, women.

Union households, which make up one-fifth of the New Hampshire Democratic primary electorate, voted for Clinton 40 percent to 31 percent for Obama. Among voters with household incomes less than $50,000 a year, Clinton beat Obama by 15 points, and by 18 points among those with no more than a high school diploma.

Similarly, Clinton won the votes of self-described Democrats in this open party primary state. Among those who typically consider themselves Democrats she won 45 percent of the vote to 34 percent for Obama.

For Obama, the generation of new and young voters that propelled him to victory in the Iowa caucuses last week was not there in New Hampshire. While Obama won nearly half of voters who had never voted in a primary election before, these voters made up only 19 percent of the primary electorate.

And while Obama beat Clinton by 60 percent to 22 percent among the youngest voters - those 18 to 24 years old - his advantage among other voters under 40 was much slimmer than seen in Iowa.

Obama did win the independent vote in New Hampshire. He beat Clinton among those considering themselves independents by 10 points - 41 to 31 percent. The rest of Obama's support base in New Hampshire came from the more elite elements of the Democratic electorate. He won the vote of those in households making more than $100,000 a year 41 percent to 36 percent for Clinton. And he won voters with advanced educational degrees by 12 points.

Clinton stemmed the Obama tide in the last three days of the campaign in New Hampshire. While Clinton trailed by 15 points among voters who decided their vote sometime last week, she split the late-breaking vote with Obama- 36 percent and 37 percent respectively..."

Also regarding the number of Dem vs GOP voters that turned out as a whole...

from daily kos last night using CNN statistics:

280,000 people voted for Democrats, 220,000 for Republicans.

In 2000, turnout looked like this:

Repub.: 238,606 Democratic: 154,639

Repubs lost ~20,000 voters while Dems damn near doubled!

the 280k is a Dem primary record (up from 220k in '04), the 220k down from ~238k when McCain ran in 2000.
