I know it's hard not to get down on Ron Paul's campaign after the sub 10% showings in Iowa and NH, and I am guilty of it myself, but I don't stay down long, and I am imploring the rest of 4um to do the same.

When you think about what we have accomplished so far, it is really amazing. I mean RP has gone from 0% to 9% so far and we only have seen two contests. Hunter is all but gone, and Thompson isn't far behind. Then it becomes a 4 way contest. Giuliani is in worse shape than Paul at this point, so we have a lot to be optimistic about.

I see a bunch of folks saying they are close to giving up on RP. It is too early to give up and give in to the NWO. Don't give the bastards the satisfaction of knowing that they can whup us simply by ignoring us. That's what it really boils down to. The NWO thinks they can whup us by ignoring us. Why let them have the field so easily?

One of my best character traits I think is my pride. My pride won't let me give up. If it did, I'd be long gone from the face of this earth cuz there have been many times when I asked myself, "What is the fucking use?" My pride has kept me from doing all sorts of stupid things in my life. It would not let my "enemies" have the satisfaction of knowing that they hurt me or beat me.

Let's show some pride and not let these low life vermin think they hurt us. Let's laugh at their antics and know in our hearts that we will win this thing if we just keep pushing ahead.

Pride is, IMHO, the wrong term for what you are describing. Pride is a negative emotion and even classified as a sin by many religions.

I would categorize your trait as tenacity, persistence and "stick-to-it-iveness" (a made-up word I've heard around these parts all my life).

A Latin phrase also comes to mind: Illegitimi non carborundum

Good post - thanks.

Today I helped with the rent on a new, south Austin MUG office, and ordered 19,200 more RP Hope for America business cards which Corey Stern was good enough to mark down 50% for us.

10% is a very good showing regardless. Remember, Bill Clinton took less than 3% in Iowa back when he was in the 1992 race.

A consistent 10% given the lack of money poured in showed core support.

I'm satisfied with RP's performance.

That's right! And we will see two more drop from the field soon. Then we really get to see what America is made of.

I'm not down at all, I have the firm conviction that Ron Paul is right man to be elected President of the United States of America.

Please.

Thanks for the love, but I'm just one lone guy doing what I can with my keyboard and my checkbook to help younger folks that need funding to go to primary states, have fliers, hand-outs, burn DVD's, go to marches, etc.

Hopefully, we're all doing whatever our time, finances, and lives allow us to do...

But if it ever does come to 'foxhole' time here, you could not come to a better place than the CenTex - you would NOT be alone down here.

As Texicans said way back when, 'Remember Goliad, remember the Alamo.'

That spirit is still alive.

I'll keep that in mind, as long as I'm welcome. I might have to show up with nothing but all the guns and ammo I can carry though...

Its just too early. People need to realize this isn't a sprint - its a marathon.

With Internet, people are too used to instant gratification. They don't know what its like to claw and dig and fight anymore.

This is a fight. Its a 50 round boxing match and no TKOs or "standing" knockouts will be called.

America is not at war. The military is at war. America is at the mall and the Congress is out to lunch.

Sounds good enough to get you a nice bunk.

Rounds used here: .177(pellet) .22 .22mag .222 .223 7mmRemMag .45ACP and .416 Barrett - any and all other calibers are more than welcome to bring to the party.

I'm not going anywhere, I'm not getting a passport, I am here.

As an aware, and fully armed friend said today, "My wife and I were discussing things, and we asked each other, 'Do we really need more than two rounds?'"

Not a bad question, all things considered.

I live by the mathematical theory of "We each only have to get one" when the time comes. Of course, I realize I might have to carry water for a few other more unfortunate anti-totalitarians, therefore the M1A, Lee Enfield MkIV, Mossberg, and pair of Brownings... Still, would like a 1911, and Lodwick's .416 sounds like a winner :-)
