Analysis- Republican Congressman Ron Paul won the GOP debate. Fox News apparently feeling pressure after censoring Ron Paul from the last GOP forum two days prior to the New Hampshire primary, included Paul in tonights debate.
Paul was actually given equal time to speak and he embarrassed his opponents on foreign policy, especially John McCain who had said prior to the debate that he would not mind keeping U.S. troops in Iraq for 100 years.
Paul pointed out that the U.S. cant afford the Iraq war and is borrowing from China to finance it.
Paul was also the only candidate to recognize that the U.S. is already in a recession that could get much worse. He also said that the real estate market was already in a depression.
Paul spoke about monetary policy as the cause of the recession. His opponents did not seem too familiar with the topic.
On fiscal Conservatism Paul shined as well. His defense of the Constitution and Civil Liberties was also passionate.
The audience was also very receptive to Pauls views applauding often, including foreign policy issues, which seemed to irritate the moderators.
Fox then presented a less than credible focus group that had almost all participants claiming Paul was the loser. Gauging the actual crowd applause, Paul was the winner, although it remains to be seen if that will translate into a victory in the state.
Fred Thompson, Mike Huckabee, and the Republican delegate leader, Mitt Romney all performed well.
Giuliani was a little redundant
McCain was the big loser. He came off a little unhinged. Paul just made his opponents look uninformed on foreign policy and liberal on economics.
Regardless of who you thought won the debate, it was by far the best. If the networks have had fair and open debates thoughout the campaign, the ratings would have been through the roof.
thanks for link 20/12, I clicked it, here is the article Love, Palo
I notice Huckabee became very uncomfortable when he was asked about how come under his Governorship he increased taxes so much and increased size of government so much
I don't have a cellphone, so I can't text my vote to Fox either not that I even know what a text message is
Palo,
Cell phones can send actual 'text' messages that someone can read like an email on their little visual display. But they can also use a TEXT code to 'send' a vote on a poll.
In yet another Faux News fake focus group, the actors were aked who they thought won the South Carolina debate, the concensus was Thompson, which I hate to admit is my view as well.
The next question was Who do you think lost? The actors on que, raised their hands in unison in favor of Ron Paul being the Loser. I couldnt disagree more.
Lets see, you have a dying actor (Thompson); a Nazi and potential rape victim (McCain); the son of a crime boss and made guy (Giuliani); a cockeyed preacher from Arkansas that believes its okay to rape and torture dogs (Hucklabee); George HW Bushs third son and Nazi fascist co-conspirator (Romney); and a hardcore conservative with a long history of being right (RON PAUL!)

I am 'gizmo' and 'doodad' challenged. ;)
LOL I am too what a happy miracle my friend Helen taught me how to use a computer and how to do internet I am so grateful for that Love, Palo

that is good news! I didn't know audience was receptive and applauded I didn't notice the moderators get irritated
I did see Brit Hume ask Ron Paul a question and become very serous and interested in Ron Paul's answer I am sure that was foreign policy probably Brit sees it differently than Ron Paul it looked like a good exchange tho
really can't imagine living without the computer now.
Though, we may all find ourselves reading smokesignals and using the abacus someday.
I did not do well at the abacus.
you are so funny lol no I didn't do well with the abacus or the slide rule I am very fond of computer now, and could not live without it
I figure we will stay high tech and get even more so I am new age and I am looking forward to when everyone in Heaven communicates with us on 'puter hahaha they can even join our forums and post
I also heard Carl ask Huckabee about his position wife submit to husband at all times LOL
I thought about going there but decided against it.
I actually know, or knew both of these people. Boggles my mind, Somebody had to go to Hope High School from 1972- 74. And I was the victim.
Mike, at the time, would stop and pull you out of the mud. A decent man really, nobody that I knew did not like him. Nobody could not like him, generally speaking.
He was always humble, and that was quite different from the other pompous religious kids in the school. A lot of that.
He is a true believer, One Way to Salvation and not, I think to be nuianced in the Middle East conversations.
In short I would love him as a neighbor and lothe him as a COC. O and the MIC would roll him like a log. He is a Big Government Statist from day one.
Postscript: the arrogant Mittster and his unstable lunatic compadre, McCrazy, are going to lose the GOP Pres candidacy and I am sooooo happy - especially since Mittster is using his own personal fortune to underwrite his predictable loss and McCrazy proves once again that there's no limit to how many times he can try and lose yet again. Those 2 mutts appear briefly in the clips. As for the mindless heaps of trash in the audience who guffawed and breyed when Carl Cameron asked Dr. Paul about his winnability quotient, when they become ill and need the help of a M.D. - professionals who are ranked as having the highest IQ's - let those donkeys think back to their rude punk behavior towards the only winner in the entire group of hucksters and liars and affirmative action candidates running for President of their country. These louts in the audience should consider themselves lucky that Dr. Paul has tossed his hat into the ring comprised of knaves and fools.

Mike does sound like a lovely guy from your report it's ok with me he is a true believer I am a true believer too, but just in different things it is very nice he is not a hypocrite about religion, that I could not abide I like when someone is sincere, no matter what their beliefs are I respect all beliefs it does credit to his character that you say he always tried to help the other guy
I have nothing whatsoever against Mike I just want Ron Paul to be our President and I do not thnk Mike is in the same league as Ron Paul Mike sounds like a typical pol, who happens to be a very nice guy
Love, Palo
I couldn't help giggle when Mike was asked about wife submitting to husband on all things it was naughty of Carl to ask that question but look at the queston he asked Ron Paul right afterwards, about the truthers
but it's good for candidates to be asked all kinds of questions I think why not? it made the debate so interesting
A breakdown on the questions to candidates and Foxs flagrant attempt to prop up Fred Thompson and put down Ron Paul
I don't get it, I thought it was a great debate and that article you linked to originally, which is four square behind Ron Paul also said it was a great debate, and great for Ron Paul the article called it a fair debate, and that was my impression too
palo verde: I also heard Carl ask Huckabee about his position wife submit to husband at all times LOL

tomoo7 - I'm glad you said what you did. I mentioned earlier in this thread that Fox was determined to be as mean to Huckabee as to Dr. Paul. Rupert Murdoch ( and the elites?) don't like Huckabee at all.
I thought that question was a cheap shot and it turns out it was actually taken out of Biblical New Testament context. I thought Huckabee's response was perfect - he did very well for himself and probably won over some undecided voters who fretted about how much his evangelical faith would make him too narrow focused. Huckabee made Carl Cameron regret asking him that question.
I didn't think the intentional back-stab by Carl Cameron was funny at all. I thought it was below the belt and uncalled for.
We Ron Paul supporters are outraged about the tough breaks that MSM have given to RP. But we should also be outraged about what cheap shots MSM delivers to other candidates. We want all the candidates to be on a level playing field and we should let media know when they are being unfair not only to RP but to others, because it means that they are openly abusing the power of the medium to de-select who they don't want for us.
well ya know I believe everyone goes to Heaven so that means they are not goody-goods up there how do you know they don't cuss worse than we do :)
In Heaven, there's no reason to cuss.
In my picture of it, they're whipping out the Thee's and Thou's, ye's and yea's.
They would not say such things as, you are a dumb*ss. They would say, Thou behavest akin a mule with mad fever. Sort of. And then the guys behind him would laugh, and say, what a blowhard. :)
you make a lot of good points I guess I just didn't take it that seriously
it just struck my funnybone, the idea that a wife should submit to her husband in all things I thought how my hubby and I have opposite poltical perception on most things and am I supposed to give up my truth and submit to his perception
I just think equality makes sense
I don't argue with hubby, I figure he is free to see it his way, I am free to see it my way
but I didn't think it was wrong for Carl to ask Ron Paul about the truthers either
even tho Carl asked both of them those questions to put them on the spot so what?
In my picture of it, they're whipping out the Thee's and Thou's, ye's and yea's.

LOL!!
I don't think people talk weird just bec. they are in Heaven now, and no longer in the world they might still enjoy salty language
lol if Heaven were boring no one could stand it I am sure it is a lot of fun
I'd love it if every lottery ticket I bought was a winner. There is a reason why I don't buy lottery tickets. I am good at math.
We do lotto math every day. Balancing the books at our Liquor Store. We dont buy lotto tickets. Even tho my wife sold a $100,000 winner a two years ago.
my hubby is very new to watching politics he is a passionate devoted sports fan, that has been his whole life
now he watches CNN, when there is no game on
so far he likes Hillary Clinton, he likes John McCain, and he like Ron Paul (he heard about Ron Paul from me)
does the Bible say I am supposed to give up supporting Ron Paul 100 percent and go over to Bill's perception wouldn't I be an idiot to do that does the Bible think wimmin are idiots
I'm just kiddin' around here, I don't want to get anyone mad sometimes it is fun to laugh
Love, Palo
O I forgot Hillary is now off the list, he found out she doesn't respect 2nd Amendment Rights, which Bill believes in 100 percent I wonder if I should tell him John McCain introduced a gun control bill in the Senate back in 2001?
