Title: 'Draft Lou Dobbs' effort launched by 'Legal Immigration PAC'

Add "Draft Lou Dobbs" to the efforts by independents to bring another candidate into the presidential race.

The movement was launched today by Americans for Legal Immigration. The group, in a press release, praises the CNN host for "his tough stance on border security and curbing illegal immigration. While encouraging voters to register as independents, Dobbs addresses a host of issues dealing with the economy, trade agreements, election integrity, and America's middle class that would appeal to Democrats, Republicans, and independent voters alike."

William Gheen, who heads the organization and its political action committee, says in that release that Dobbs "could run and win because he could easily raise the funds and grassroots support he needs to be a historic and viable candidate quickly. The public is eager to rebuke the D.C. status quo and would quickly rally to Dobbs."

Would Dobbs do it? "I cannot say never," he told The Wall Street Journal earlier this month, about presidential speculation.

Yesterday, a Draft Bloomberg effort was launched by fans of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Interesting. He also might make a good running mate for RP.

Interesting. He also might make a good running mate for RP.

Lou learned yesterday that CA will not allow Indy's to vote in the open primary.

Imagine that.

Way to go recruiting Indy's!

Kali is collectivized beyond imagination.

And gerrymandered to a tight wet knot.

Hopeless, especially considering the 9th circuit.

I think Lou is feigning surprise.

I am 3rd generation immigrant on both sides
my grandparents came from Russia and Poland
the words on the Statue of Liberty mean a great deal to me
Ron Paul can choose any running mate he wants, and I will vote for him
I want Ron Paul to be President
but the immigration issue is not my issue

You know who wrote them, don't you? They're not in our Constitution, that's for sure.

Hi Buckeye
I apologize to you for being snippy in my above post
You and I have had a beautiful time posting with each other, both on LP and here
but my vision is inclusive, I want to include everyone
I don't know what the solution to immigraton is, but there is always a fair solution,
fair to everyone, if it is looked for

I want to begin off in a place of showing heart, and then find the solution fair to everyone

In any case, I see there is a forum connected to Ron Paul's official site, I'd like to try posting over there

So if I'm not around for a while you will understand
I send you all my love and best wishes
Love, Palo

Adios palo. I pray you will return grounded in reality. Dreaming, hoping & wishing for things to be different isn't the world in which we live. And please remember this; the "defeatists" as you call some have been dead on accurate to date re; RPs effort. The System is what it is and the sooner we recognize what we’re facing, the quicker we can come up with viable solutions. Peace.

the words on the Statue of Liberty mean a great deal to me

How much do you know about the author of those words, Palo?

Schor plumbed Lazarus’ letters, poems and other writings to create a portrait of a complex woman who defied the female roles of her time by pursuing a career as a poet and a critic and by speaking her mind on all kinds of hot-button issues. “She was a woman so far ahead of her time that we are still scrambling to catch up with her — a feminist, a Zionist and an internationally famous Jewish American writer before these categories even existed,” according to the book. Life of Emma Lazarus provides inspiration for Princeton’s Schor
She was also reputed to be a Marxist, although I've seen that denied by her apologists.

Why is it that some immigrants coming here to America cannot adopt our land as their "promised land?" You know that many Americans believe that this is our promised land.

Do you want to promise it to the world? What about us? What about our children, and their children? It's not really yours to give away.

You say you love us. Do you? Or do you love the idea that identity does not matter? I can tell you that ours does. You can share it with us, because you have every right to call yourself an American. But to claim that dearly fought title, you need to understand that this is your home, this is your promised land.

Emma Lazarus evidently continued to hold another land above ours, all the while promising ours to someone else. I do not think highly of Emma Lazarus. Her religion and her ethnicity do not matter to me. What matters is that she tried to promise our America to others before she had proven that she loved it more than any other land on earth. In doing so, without intending to, she made a promise that should never have been made.

Are you making promises like that, Palo? This is a land of opportunity for all who come here. All who arrive here according to our laws are welcome. This isn't about hatred. This is about loving your fellow countrymen enough to stand up for them and theirs.

America, and Americans first. We can't love the world until we know how to take care of our own people.
