ST. PAUL -- A Fridley, Minn. man died Tuesday after state troopers used a taser to control him after a rush hour accident.
Minnesota State Troopers responded to a crash around 5:00 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 694 in New Brighton, where they found an uncooperative driver. Troopers used a taser to control the man, who was then taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead.
The cause of death has yet to be determined pending the results of the autopsy.
Five troopers have been placed on administrative leave by the Minnesota State Patrol, according to standard operating procedure.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the incident. The drivers name is being withheld until family is notified.
