For the second time in five years, Denver Police have apologized to the Hells Angels motorcycle club for possibly violating the group's Constitutional rights. In a settlement released Thursday, attorney David Lane said Denver and Mountain View Police agreed to pay a total of $14,000 to the group, and apologize for a Sept. 2, 2005 traffic stop in Mountain View. During that stop, which the Angels lawsuit said was made without probable cause, Denver Police arrived for backup and held the Hells Angels at the rifle-point for about an hour while each was searched. In his letter, Denver Manager of Safety Al LaCabe apologizes, and wrote, "at no time did any officer or the City and County of Denver ever intend to violate your Constitutional rights. "We apologize if this may have inadvertently occurred." Mountain View Police Chief Eric Gomez wrote an identical letter. The traffic stop resulted in one ticket for speeding and the arrest of two Hells Angels for carrying concealed weapons. In 2003, the city wrote a similar letter to the Hells Angels and paid $50,000 after a DPD raid on the group's clubhouse.

That’s what it’s come down too, my friends. The police have to apologize to the Angel’s because their feelings were hurt. BTW, for those of you who might side with the Hell’s Angels’ on this one, just imagine the probable cause one would have just explaining the propensensity for violence the Angel’s have, and how they make their money, i.e. drugs. Most Café Paranoia threads are chock full of fascism these days. Hate the way they look? Burn them. Hate the way they think? Have snookerthon advertisements saying, "Imagine a world without liberals." Excuse me, one is welcome not to like the opinions I have because they are liberal, but I was a paratrooper nine years. Come and get me, or any of the other liberal minded people like me who have plenty of guns, equipment and knowledge on their effective use. We'll see just who gets extincted. ;-) FReeperville has evicted the thinkers, now it's really vicious, dumb people who exist at that dive who rail at the thought of thinking politically correct, then jump through hoops to think as correctly as is thematic there as possible. I lasted over three years there without pulling a punch about my views. I wouldn't last an hour there these days. It's ranking as a site is way down, the Snookerthons take forever now, and JimRob and company are as popular as lepers in a swimming pool in many conservative circles; TRUE Conservative circles that is. The place stinks, and enough bad things can't happen to it for my taste.
