Wow, Huckabee just stole the words right out of Ron Paul's mouth. He said the stimulus package will be borrowed from China and we will buy stuff that is made in China anyways, so whose economy are we stimulating?

Bullcrap. The other candidates copy him because they know people want to hear it. Once the election is over, the other candidates forget they ever said it. Like Reagan and the Dept. of Education. Before he was elected, Ronnie said "get rid of it!" Afterwards, he never heard of it.

My dad was covering the Republican National Convention in 1980. He said when Reagan announced Bush as his running mate, everyone gasped in shock. Nobody knows this, but Bush and Reagan were political enemies before the convention.

A LOT of people knew this. And Reagan himself DAMN WELL knew he shouldn't have caved in to David Rockefeller's demands to appoint his boy veep when the veepster's hit man nearly killed him barely two months after being inaugurated.

It is often said that the Hinckley assassination attempt was the beginning of the GHW Bush de facto presidency, which then lasted nearly 12 agonizing years.

The worst part of Ronald Reagan's legacy was his enabling of the Bush family. I Reagan hadn't appointed Bush I (who was bad enough), Bush II and the rest of his slimy family would never have become major playors.

I wonder if Reagan had lived long enough and in good mental health if he would have regretted it.
