Paul Excluded From The Tennessean Voter’s Guide

By sligh | February 3, 2008

From Nashville Ron Paul Meetup Group website:

“With time running short before Tuesday’s primary election in Tennessee, the Middle Tennessee area’s most prominent newspaper, The Tennessean (Gannett) , failed to include Presidential Candidate Ron Paul in its voter guide published in the Sunday edition of the newspaper on page 22A. The voter guide gives detailed information about the other three major GOP candidates, but does not feature candidate Ron Paul. The Nashville Ron Paul Meetup Group would like to express its outrage at this apparent blatant discrimination against Ron Paul.”

Photos of the Tennessean’s “voter’s guide” layout:

I am in this meetup group and hardly a fraction as active as many of the members. They are working around the clock to spread Paul’s message to Tennesseans and this is a real smack in the face to those that have worked so hard for this coming Tuesday, and to the readers are aren’t getting an informed look at the presidential candidates. We are calling and emailing to persuade them that a correction should be made in Monday’s paper.

The Tennessean is owned by the Gannett Corporation....

Oh, that explains it.

Gannett won't even run the pics and the story of the poor soul who was interrogated to death then packed in ice at Abu Ghraib Prison, here in Delaware.

When I called the News Journal's editor and asked why they didn't run a story that was big news elsewhere in the nation, he told me that he'd have to clear it with "corporate in VA". That was two years ago. They ran the pic but in a totally unrelated story about the anthrax vaccine and Dover Air Force Base. (The Officers Knew!)

Nashville Paper Blacks Out RP TWICE in same election cycle

Some of you may remember the major Nashville paper, the Tennessean, blacking out Ron Paul’s rally in Nashville in October. The editor, Mark Silverman, claimed “internal communications error” which either means incompetence or willful negligence.

EDIT: Nashville Newspaper DID Cover Largest RP Rally Ever

The largest newspaper in Nashville refused to run ANY story follow-up on the awesome Nashville Ron Paul rally. They sent a reporter there with a camera and knew about the event. The event was literally 3 blocks from the paper’s office. The event was on Saturday, and there was nothing in the Sunday or Monday editions mentioning it.

THIS IS AN OBVIOUS MEDIA BLACKOUT!!!

This paper is owned by Gannett

and affiliated with: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J.....haler,_Sr. who is close friends with Al Gore (Gore lives in Nashville).

Oh - and Friday they put Fred Thompson on the front page.

LET THEM KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!!

course we knew this was going to happen. I blame the party leadership. People should leave the party in mass. However I no longer have faith in the people either.

I still like people, but still angry with corporate media types. I suppose I should be angry with fellow citizens for being dopey enough to be mesmerised by CMT's, but it's happened before, too. Live and learn, I've lived to learn, and see no reason others can't do the same.

Dakmar = change!

Vote for Dakmar if you're an idiot that wants some sort of undefined change. I'm thinking of pattending the Change Blaster, it's a flare gun full of nickles and dimes and special confetti. Prolly best not.

That's where I'm at. I went through this on a smaller scale with the Grange, that's why I'm no longer with them. You get tired of fighting the stupidity after a while.

I got tired of competing with it. Remember my cousin, Galant, from the magazine? He kept telling me "Goofus, you need to move away and get a job teaching English", but now he's dead. This isn't the first time being a Hoosier has saved my life, one friend a long time ago invited me out to San Diego telling me I could get a Cruise Ship job. He was crushed inside the #4 cylinder of one of those giant ship diesels a few months after I declined.
