A third party run is Ron Paul's only hope now.

Why do you think he has a chance on a third party?

It's a slim hope, but I think the disillusionment reflected in the opinion polls is real, and the base of either party may not be able to defeat a real third party run. I also think a third part run gives Ron Paul a chance to continue his participation in the campaign longer, which is good news for all of us.

Cafferty asks Candy, any idea how we go about changing it? V for Vendetta came to mind.

The only solution to this mess is to dig a hole big enough to nudge them all in and cover quickly

Had Perot with his money stuck with the 20 million voters that voted for him, we would not be having this conversation.

" It's a slim hope "

You got it right, there's a lot of dienfranchised people all accross the country that

can't stand any of the options. In total they're greater than either party. Dr Paul just has to

keep going, lectures ,shak'n hands and meeting folks right to the end, as 3rd party candidate.

I spoke to one of Ross' big wheels in a neighboring State this evening.

He still gets a little misty talking about that failure. 16 years later.

Paul has no chance of winning the election as a third party candidate. He'd have trouble even getting on the ballot in some states, for one thing. And he'd get even less media coverage as a third party candidate than he gets now as a Republican.

However, the longer Paul remains in the race, the more he gets his message out through "alternative" media. I think that Paul realizes that his role right now is to build a movement and promote a cause, so that 4 or 8 years down the line, somebody with his views will actually have a shot at the Presidency. For this reason (and only this one), I'd like to see him run third party.

You can add Hillary Clinton to that photo and make it a menage a trois.
