WASH. - Thousands turned out as Precinct Caucuses for the Democratic and Republican Parties were held Saturday at various locations throughout the area. The Spokane Democratic Chair reported seeing double the number of usual voter turn out some precincts, even triple in some places such as the 4th Legislative District. Republican Caucus Results: With 40% of the precincts reporting - Ron Paul 49%, Mike Huckabee 21%, John Mccain 16%. Democratic Caucus Results: No clear lead with only 15% precincts reporting. Statewide Caucus Results: The Associated Press is reporting that with 24% of results in, Barack Obama was winning 65% of delegates to Hillary Clinton's 33%. Washington Republican and Democratic chairmen say the personal visits by the top three presidential hopefuls should send caucus attendance soaring, as partisans gather in hundreds of community meetings at 1 p.m. Democrats will allocate all 78 of their elected national delegates through the process. Republicans will use results to allot about half of their 37 elected delegates. The state also has a presidential primary, conducted mostly via mail, on Feb. 19. Republicans will use results to elect half of their national delegates, but Democrats view the primary as a nonbinding popularity contest and won't use it to allocate delegates.

He is the person updating their webpage. He says he is getting his info directly from GOP as they count the votes! This is for real! Ron Paul is actually ahead 45% to 2nd place 20%.

After doing some investigating, it appears that the 49% is only for the city of Spokane.

Eastern Washington is a VERY Republican area, and even with that as a given, Republican turnout could not be lower if the polls had signs out front saying "Quarantined for Measles" on them. I've said it before and I'll say it again: The Republicans are going to be MAULED this fall. Just utterly CRUSHED. They are going to lose at least 80% of the races they're in. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney have destroyed the Republican brand. It's going to take at least a generation in the political wilderness before we'll see another Republican president. I'm thinking that if they atone in a really big way, and work really really hard, we may see another Republican in the White House by 2028.

Yeah. I was really hoping that Dr. Paul would energize the young people and the traditionally non-voters to vote, but this didn't happen. In my county, only about 260 people voted for Dr. Paul. The winnner was Huckabee with McCain and Romney running second and third. We actually had a good turnout too. It's very disheartening. I'm thinking about not even voting in the general election. Not voting would make as much of a difference as voting third party would, which is absolutley none. Very depressing.
Repubs are really pathetic this year.

Those that put their hope in the Democratic Party are going to be real disappointed then. Both parties take their marching orders from the same people. Obama and Hillary are both insiders and for all of their talk will change nothing excpet the size and scope of government in our lives. And that change won't be for the better you can bet your paycheck on that!

You over estimate the memory of the average American. Give Joe sixpack a two term dose of "D" brand stagflation and military blunders (the Iraq meat grinder rolls on no matter who holds office) and watch them run screaming back to the "R" party to save them. Hell, I'll come out right now and predict that if Obama or Hillary wins, the GOP uses the next 8 years to "re-invent" itself in the form of another faux-revolution to sucker the voters in once more. The sad thing is I think such just a move will work. And, as a friend of mine pointed out. The "D"s will rise to office just in time for the wheels come off the economy.

www.ronpaulwarroom.com/?p=5699 Very odd how results are coming in for WA state GOP By researchris | February 9, 2008 all sites that i have followed show the GOP caucus results in three easy steps…. it stayed at zero for quite a while.. the first step was then to sit at 17% for over an hour, then just to 37% for almost as long,,, then now it has been at 78% and just sitting there… from 17 to 37 to 78%… how are these results coming in? the update system on all sites are the same and i haven’t seen it like this for any other state…..well, besides Alaska……
