Another top Hillary aide out Clinton's deputy campaign manager, Mike Henry, is out, Cillizza is is the first to report. I've obtained a copy of his farewell email to colleagues on the campaign, in which he cites the internal transition and wishes Clinton the best. "Out of respect for Maggie and her new leadership team I thought it was the best thing to do. As someone who has managed campaigns, I share the unique understanding of the challenges that the campaign will face over the next several weeks," he wrote. "Our campaign needs to move quickly to build a new leadership team, support them and their decisions and make the necessary adjustments to achieve the winning outcome for which we have all worked so hard for over a year now." Henry's a Virginia hand, having run Tim Kaiine's campaign. He also wrote the famous memo suggesting Clinton stay away from Iowa -- a memo whose estimate of Iowa's challenges for her was vindicated last month. His full email after the jump. February 12, 2008 Hi everyone. I just wanted to let you know about a decision I've made. Yesterday I made the decision to leave the campaign. Out of respect for Maggie and her new leadership team I thought it was the best thing to do. Our campaign needs to move quickly to build a new leadership team, support them and their decisions and make the necessary adjustments to achieve the winning outcome for which we have all worked so hard for over a year now. I also want to thank everyone for the opportunity to work with each one of you, establish friendships, and I will always fondly remember the camaraderie that I have build with so many people on this staff. You all are so talented and it has been a pleasure to work with you. You have made this journey so much fun and rewarding. Thank you. It has been an honor to work for Senator Clinton on her presidential campaign. I remain steadfast in my belief that Senator Clinton is the most qualified and most prepared person to be the next president of the United States and my support of her candidacy remains as strong as ever. What is the best way to remove an ashtray from the head? This is no doubt a reference to the time a secret service agent entered a room and caught Hillary in a compromising situation with the now-deceased Mary Mahoney. Clinton reportedly bashed the agent's head in with a heavy ash tray. He was instructed to seek medical treatment out of the district and to protect the first lady's privacy which is a priority mission of the service. And, in 1997 shortly before Mahoney was to go public with a tell all about sexual harassment in The White House, she was murdered in a Starbucks "robbery" where no cash was taken. Another one of those fortunate deaths that surround these people.....

I do remember the story you mention here, but had no idea of the *ashtray* connection. My oh my. Thanks so much for the whole story! Eeeeeeek.. so many that would still not care either way.

They are everywhere. And it doesn’t matter what their politics are. A real woman doesn’t need to ask herself whether what she is doing is feminine, womanly. She does it, automatically, doesn’t need to think about it, and because she does it, because she is a real woman, it is feminine and womanly. Not so Hillary. When it comes time to be a woman, she has to think about it. Indeed, her advisers have to tell her what to do, when to cry, when to talk about baking cookies, what to say. She is playing a part.
