Pious Perverts See other Pious Perverts Articles Title: The Truth About Joseph Mercola M.D. I spent a lot of money seeking help for my fibromyalgia with Dr. Mercola and his clinic staff. I followed their advice religiously. After 6 months of eating so many greens, I developed a kidney stone because of too much oxlate in my diet. They also missed that I was a diabetic even though they took many blood tests. I found I wasted all my money and was in worse health after the 6 months of multi-weekly visits. Really seems to be all about the $$$$. I had similar experience to those above. My first appt I didn't even meet with him, even though my appt was with him!!! Then I had to pay and go back to get my test results, and when I couldn't, the charged me to review my test results over the phone. They send you through a "program", where you meet with about 8 different people, so that they can charge you each time. TOTAL CRAP!!! Stay away, very very far away. Registered users can respond to this rating I saw this man for 8 years and watched as his practice went more and more holistic. He is a terrible doctor. I saw him many times for chronic strep and all he did was push pill after pill until I developed rashes and other reactions and then he would put me on another pill until it happened again. He seems to only care about money. His allergy treatment was a joke. Even our local health food store told us he was extreme. His manners were rude, abrasive and arrogant. I would only recommend him if you prefer your doctor to care nothing about actual science or scientifically verifiable studies. Some good advice, but he and his assistants basically missed everything that was wrong with me and told me there were things wrong with me than weren't wrong with me. There are better doctors out there, and in some cases I think this guy might be dangerous. Registered users can respond to this rating He's rude and arrogant and even made a comment about my undergarments!!!I had extremly high blood pressure and had I stayed with his advice I'd probably had a stroke or died by now. Even worse when it comes to billing: I wasn't made aware that my insurance didn't pay a certain portion and they wrote a nasty letter stating that they would sick their attorneys on me: And your name stays on the bad credit list for years even though you pay the bill! STAY FAR AWAY FROM HIM! Dr. Mercola was the only doctor who provided an allergy treatment program that worked for me. I can do the shots at home rather than go into an allergist's office every week and they've helped me immensely. He also gave me an i.v. solution one time which knocked out a cold in one day. I also found out I was nearly deficient in vitamin D, which has been linked to various illnesses in recent studies. Be aware that he is a holistic doctor and expects you to take responsibility for your health. If you're not willing to commit to his diet and exercise recommendations or follow his program, then he's not the doctor for you. The one downside is that he expects you to prepare most of your meals yourself, so if you're a person who eats out a lot or doesn't have much time to cook, you probably won't do well with him. I totally disagree with the quack ratings the others have given him. He can be a bit dogmatic, but overall, my experience was good. 1 1 1 I strongly urge everyone to stay away from what I believe is this dangerous healthcare practitioner -- who is also extremely arrogant and holds himself above any authority -- including the Better Business Bureau and the IL Attorney General -- two organizations with which I filed complaints about his services -- particularly when he failed to address my reasonable concerns about them -- esp his FAILURE to properly address my health concerns. He actually gave advice that hurt me! His website and staff are trained to lure you in -- then it starts -- you pay $200 for this & that staffperson each month, $300 for supplements & other products -- oh -- available from his store! Try to hold this joker to accountability? he AND his staff ignore you. Then, they demand $. I sic'd the IL A/G on him -- he repeatedly outrageously ignored her -- the AG even stated "we find your health claims unsubstantiated." This whacko is arrogant & has got a racket going -- stay away if you value your health! This guy is a TOTAL QUACK! I went to him for help because I have Sarcoidosis. They had me get a hair analysis, blood work (though I already had that done with all the results a month before) then they wanted me to get all their vitamins, etc. I ended up paying 1500.00. When I called for my hair analysis report, they said I had to make ANOTHER appointment to get my results! This guy has a real racket going on. Is a total goofball in my book. Also, the things he told me to take for my Sarcoidosis would have harmed me even more. He is VERY cocky, claims Christianity, but practices New Age techniques, he refuses to listen to his patient at all. God forbid if you question him. Now, unless of course you want to commit suicide and are too chicken to go through with it, go to Mercola, he'll help you out! Registered users can respond to this rating I had terible infections going on. he took me off of the intravenous vitamin therapy and said that my body had to fight the infection. His dentist gave me the book, stay in the now. I LEFT AND WENT TO ANOTHER DOC WHO DISCOVERED THAT I HAD A SERIOUS JAW INFECTION CAUSED BY A WISDOM TOOTH THAT HAD INDORRECTLY BEEN PULLED 25 YEARS AGO. I COULD HAVE DIED FROM THIS IF IT HAD NOT BEEN FOR THE NEW DOCTOR He wrote me a prescription for 6.67 TIMES the amount of the current thyroid medication that I am taking.He refused to speak to the 3 pharmacists that called with questions about the dosage.I was told the dose that he wanted me to take would have killed me
Poster Comment: I saw Joseph Mercola, and found him to be the worst doctor I have ever seen. He is a catastrophe. I cannot recommend him to anyone. He completely missed what was wrong with me, told me there were things wrong with me that weren't wrong with me, and gave me no treatment. He told me to take cod liver oil, which I was already doing, and to drink kefir, which I was already doing. That was his treatment for blood pressure that was 190/110. He utterly missed the fact my high blood pressure was being caused by a dental infection. He had three hours to find it. Another doctor found it in five minutes.

Medicine has become a business.
And quite the one to be in. I've never had a job where I got my full paycheck for not only failing to do my job, but making the situation worse. "Sorry, Boss. I couldn't figure out how to wax the tile floors so I waxed the carpet instead. At least I tried. Can I get paid now?" I put Doctors slightly below auto mechanics. At least when a mechanic screws up you can sometimes shame them into a refund. A doctor will screw up and act like they did you a favor.
I have found one good doctor and a few good dentists. The doctor who discovered my dental infection sent me to a dentist, who had to pull a molar and clean out the infection in the wisdom space site behind it. It took him about 20 minutes to grind everything out. His comment about the "doctor" who missed the infection was, "What sort of clown could miss this? It's as obvious as can be." When I say Mercola is a danger, I mean it. He is a quack and a charlatan. Anyone who sees him is putting his/her life in danger. Anyone who does not want to believe me, fine. Mercola has received several warning letters from the AMA, and once admitted he got terribly sick eating raw meat, since he thinks that's what we are evolved to do. Apparently he's never heard of fire.

Thinks we evolved? The guy is a mental midget if that is the case.
Did you have pain in your jaw or teeth? That would indeed be pretty obvious if so.
