This is pretty typical of the disconnect from reality that has become our national pastime...insanity.

You have just a whole lot of people that can't pay the bankers, basically in one form or another, right?

Okay then, what does that leave for taxes to the government?

Default. And lower revenue among those who do pay into the system.

The politicians are so perfectly insane, with such a wish for obsolescence, that they are now talking about RAISING taxes. I really can't think of a faster way to create a huge backlash than by displaying the spectacular lack of wisdom peculiar to all politicians and administrative twerps that always amounts to putting out a fire with gasoline.

That no one I have seen on television or mainstream media is mentioning this is sort of strange. I would normally suggest that this is some type of calculated omission, but the incompetence, arrogance and general stupidity of the average media employee is so profound that it easily allows for such a massive inability to connect the dots, or even find the dots at all. And the rest of the media employees are stupid, too, if they had felt left out, but its just that they really work for the CIA.

But no one is supposed to know that either so shut your mouth and go watch television.

We ought to find out soon whether the CAFR statements are really true or not.

The problem with admitting this is all true and living off the "reserves" which have built up is then you would have to explain to the angry peons and peasants why they were being excessively taxed to begin with.

But, as you say, the media help out in this regard by never getting anywhere close to the truth of any of the nation's finances, be they government or private sector. I think the media have generally been told by "the man behind the curtain" that too much publicity about such arcane matters might create "panics" and "runs," so they just clam up. Trying to explain such matters is not "sexy" anyhow.

"If it bleeds, it leads" doesn't work when the only thing bleeding is red ink.
