DALLAS, Texas A Dallas police motorcycle officer who crashed Friday while escorting Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton's motorcade to a campaign rally is dead, CBS station KTVT-TV, in Dallas reported.

"We are just heartsick at this loss of life in the line of duty," Clinton said at the rally.

Aerial video showed emergency medical technicians laboring to treat the officer on the Houston Street viaduct between the downtown and Oak Cliff sections of Dallas.

Dallas police spokesman Sgt. Gil Cerda said he had no information on the crash, which happened shortly after 9 a.m.
