And They Just Keep coming. I do not know much about Former Texas Gov. Mark White but this cannot hurt.

AP Release : HOUSTON - Former Texas Gov. Mark White endorsed Sen. Barack Obama Tuesday in his pursuit of the Democratic presidential nomination.White called Obama a visionary who has set forth a superior proposal to reform the health care system.

"Barack's vision is exactly what our nation needs right now," White said in a prepared statement. "Right now, Texas has the highest rate of uninsured in the nation. I believe that Barack's health care plan is the answer we've been looking for."

White, a conservative Democrat, was elected governor in 1982, defeating Republican Bill Clements. He served four years and was defeated by Clements in 1986. White ran for governor again in 1990, but lost in the Democratic primary to Ann Richards.

State legislators supporting Sen. Barack Obama took issue with Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Tuesday over her statement that Texas isn't likely to figure into the general election for the Democrats.

"I'd love to carry Texas, but it's usually not in the electoral calculation for the Democratic nominee; Florida and Michigan are," she said in a recent videotaped interview with Texas Monthly.

Democratic Reps. Jim Dunnam of Waco, Pete Gallego of Alpine and Garnet Coleman of Houston, all of whom back Obama, said Texas Democrats need a presidential candidate who will try to win Texas and help rejuvenate the state party.

"It harkens back to the 1990s, when Texas Democrats were basically abandoned," Dunnam said.

Democrats lost all statewide offices in 1998. They later lost total control of the Legislature. The party has been trying to rebuild ever since.

The lawmakers said Obama has assured them he would campaign in Texas if he becomes the nominee. They noted that he helped campaign for other candidates in red states in the 2006 elections. `

Mark Penn recently said a lot of states that a lot of states that Obama has carried are not "significant." Maybe Hillary is indicating that Texas is another one of those insignificant states.

To reason, indeed, he was not in the habit of attending. His mode of arguing, if it is to be so called, was one not uncommon among dull and stubborn persons, who are accustomed to be surrounded by their inferiors. He asserted a proposition; and, as often as wiser people ventured respectfully to show that it was erroneous, he asserted it again, in exactly the same words, and conceived that, by doing so, he at once disposed of all objections. - Macaulay, "History of England," Vol. 1, Chapter 6, on James II.

There's another debate tonight, someone needs to have a sign with just one word: Waco.

Hillary's behavior has been most bizarre recently. She looks well... clinical. I am saying this because all these bitching outbursts, the awkward mocking of Obama, her never acknowledging her losses and her failure to express some thanks and gratitude to those who voted for her and now, claiming that Texas was unimportant one week BEFORE the primary vote... no sane and rational politician would be doing these things if the plan was 'victory'.

Is Janet Reno endorsing anyone this time around?

Another kiss of death endorsement just around the corner, if anyone ever asks her.

The Republicans gave Texas in-state college tuition for children of illegal mexicans and passed a state hate crime law. The ONLY good thing Republicans have done is to let us carry our guns in our cars anywhere/anytime/any reason. Even the CCW permit requires us to give up a set of fingerprints and a mugshot (thanks for NOTHING, George Bush).

Hitlery hasn't forgotten that she and her husband were especially hated in Texas from 1993-2001, Bubba got whipped in Texas in 1992 and 1996.

I think even the Hillary people are smart enough not to ask her.

Her endorsement might cause them big problems in Florida, if there ends up being a redo there.

Waco happened on Bill Clinton's watch all right, but a good dealing of the planning for it seems to have already occurred under Bush I.

HA! Just like BushOne's Relief Mission to Somalia, implemented in December 1992. And then he left office.

I was not aware of that. I do recall that it was Janet Reno's 6th day as AG, and that Hillary's name appeared in the notes. The cover up of the crimes there was pathetic. They could have arrested Koresh whenever he walked to the store, but they chose not to.
