McCain supporter John Hagee:

I think if I could put a dividing line, the Orthodox and Conservatives who have a Torah appreciation give us wholehearted support. The rest [of Jews] who are not driven by the Word of God have a liberal agenda.

And the liberal agenda is they are pro-abortion. They're pro-homosexual. They're pro-gay marriage -- they want men to marry men and women to marry women -- and their difference with me is not really what I'm doing with Israel. Their hostility to me is poisoned by their liberalism. They take a liberal position that poisons their view of what we could be doing for Israel.

Note that a bit more than one-third of American Jews (around 41%, per the latest PEW survey) belong to the Reform (or "liberal," as Hagee would say) denomination of Judaism. More here.

And where your connection with politics and religion comes in, as well......is that because he endorsed Mchurian? Or you believe Israel is 'politics'?

I see all these words tossed out there with nothing to back them up--including much in the way of explanation of what it is that is twisting the shorts!

Hagee is not some lone whacko TV preacher on a one-town cable network. He is having an impact on our foreign policy. He advises voters. He's not making the news stumping for a restoration of our rights, either. And I don't hear him talking about our fiscal policy at all. I can't think of anything more important than reigning in our foreign policy (which he advises the opposite), balancing our budget, and restoring our rights. People in public who don't seem to get these important concepts tend to rankle anyone who cares.

But, that wasn't the point of contention.

nobody stated that Hagee is "stealing taxpayer dollars", on the erroneous presumption that if the church wasn't "fraudulently tax exempt" that A) people would still donate to it or B) the money would somehow be taxable if used for something else.

rowdee is well aware of what a snake in the grass Hagee is, but that wasn't what she was asking for clarification about. Of course even a civil request for clarification causes the little troll to start foaming at the mouth, because he doesn't allow anyone to underscore the weaknesses in his self serving anti logic without attempting to punish them. (The mark of a true intellectual, I'll tell you!)

So, for the benefit of all let me say that Hagee's skillful manipulations have allowed him to use his tax exempt status for many things that appear shady. But, fraud and theft of tax dollars are crimes and cannot simply be alleged, but must be proven. Asking for that proof caused Little Master Thorazine to set upon rowdee because answering the question would have revealed the fact that his emotional tirades are a poor substitute for proof of criminal wrongdoing.
