Marines Investigate Puppy-Throwing Video Blogs Buzz About Disturbing Video and Some Question If It's Real March 4, 2008 — The United States Marine Corps is investigating one of its own after a disturbing video appeared on YouTube showing a Marine apparently throwing a puppy off a cliff in Iraq. The grainy images look as if they may have been shot by a cell phone camera. In the video, a uniformed Marine holds a small black-and-white puppy by the scruff of the neck and says, "Cute little puppy, huh?" Then he launches the dog over the cliff. The puppy's yelps can be heard until it hits the ground below. Then the Marine shrugs his shoulders while another Marine standing nearby laughs and says, "That was mean." In a statement the Marine Corps, which declined to name the Marine, called the video is "shocking and deplorable." Marine spokesman Maj. Chris Perrine said the soldier in the video was believed to be based in Hawaii. "We do not tolerate this type of behavior and will take appropriate action," Perrine said. Questions are already surfacing on the Internet about whether the video is authentic. Many who have seen the video have declared virtual war on the Marine they believe killed the dog, and they have published his name, address and a link to his account on the social networking site Bebo. But some blog posters have said that the person named may not even be the culprit.

You -almost- owed me a new laptop. Coffee wreaks havoc on electronics... What they dont tolerate is getting caught in the act and the bad press that results.
Alex Jones seems to have gone on the warpath over this one - and the goobermunt appears to have been trying to disrupt his broadcast this morning when he tried to play a couple of audio clips. The bad guys cannot withstand having the bright glare of truth on their actions. They are so repugnant that it is stomach turning for decent people. This Marine has dishonored his uniform and the Corps. He should be busted to Buck Private and given a Dishonorable Discharge - after he spends a year or two in the Brig.

i'll check this one out.
Yesterday someone posted not only the Puppy video but, also, two others showing G.I.'s shooting dogs amid much laughter. The Puppy video is bad enough but it's even worse, and more telling, when all three are seen. One wonders if America has lost its soul...

yes, we must wonder. Abu Ghraib was a turning point for me, when the senators who saw all the videos said that the audio alone, of the boys screaming while being raped, was unspeakably terrible.
