WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush is chiding OPEC for failing to pump more oil as energy prices soar and the U.S. economy slumps. After an Oval Office meeting Tuesday with Jordan's King Abdullah II, Bush said the OPEC countries should understand the consequences of high energy prices. Bush said it's a "mistake to have your biggest customers' economies slowing down as a result of higher energy prices." Key oil ministers signaled Tuesday that OPEC has virtually ruled out pumping more oil to ease record-high prices. Bush has called for increased oil production as demand and prices continue to rise.

Cheney said Iraq should have been pumping 6 million barrels a day as of 2005 at the latest. What if Saudi Arabia has "peaked" and just doesn't want to admit it? In that case, this "refusal" to increase production is just a "cover story" for an even worse situation. But I can fully understand why OPEC would not want to admit oil has peaked so as to discourage alternative energy investments.

I read this as Whorege Arbusto admitting we're effed (dollar is toast, the jig is up for the sheeple) AND blaming his butt buddies in the House of Saud/OPEC for letting him down...gotta run, take care.
Our last hope for peace I've been thinking that myself. some OPEC members have been going to increase production since around 2004. Besides a quick dip in oil prices thanks to the sound-bit they put out, prices just keep going up.
