note: I do not believe in the rapture, and I believe America is Jerusalem. Something occurred to me today, I've started doing a little searching online, and discovered some things I found interesting...I disagree with several statements in the first article, but I do agree it is time to preach the gospel in earnest, and to watch and pray.....fyi The Blood Moon Eclipse, The Middle East, And End Time Events February 22, 2008 A riveting display of the heavenlies occured Wednesday night as the last total lunar eclipse until 2010 occurred, with cameo appearances by Saturn and the bright star Regulus on either side of the veiled full moon. Skywatchers viewing through a telescope had the added treat of seeing Saturn’s handsome rings. They also saw Regulus, the brightest star in the constellation Leo. The total eclipse was seen from North and South America. People in Europe and Africa were able to see it high in the sky before dawn on Thursday. Jack Horkheimer, host of the PBS show “Star Gazer,” called the event “the moon, the lord of the rings and heart of the lion eclipse.” Wednesday’s event was the last total lunar eclipse until December 20, 2010. Last year, there were two. A total lunar eclipse occurs when the full moon passes into Earth’s shadow and is blocked from the sun’s rays that normally illuminate it. During an eclipse, the sun, Earth and moon line up, leaving a darkened moon visible to observers on the night side of the planet. The moon doesn’t go black because indirect sunlight still reaches it after passing through the Earth’s atmosphere Since the atmosphere filters out blue light, the indirect light that reaches the moon transforms it into a reddish or orange tinge, depending on how much dust and cloud cover are in the atmosphere at the time. Unlike solar eclipses, which require protective eyewear, lunar eclipses are safe to view with the naked eye. Later this year, in August, there will be a total solar eclipse and a partial lunar eclipse Jewish tradition says that lunar eclipses mean bad news for Jerusalem, while solar eclipses mean bad news for the world. Israel last saw a full lunar eclipse on March 14th, 2006 - 14 days before her national elections when on March 28th, Ehud Ohlmert came to power, a man dedicated and promising to divide Jerusalem and give up land won prior to 1967 to the Palestinians in exchange for promises of peace. Ohlmert stands in this writer’s opinion as one of Israel’s worst and most faithless leaders in all her history since she became a nation once again in 1948. That is saying a lot. His policies go against every single command by God concerning God’s covenant land and the attendant warnings not to divide the land for political or even economic reasons. The interesting note about the 2006 lunar eclipse over the Middle East is that some believe it took place on the very same day on the Hebrew calendar of the solar eclipse recorded in Exodus during the Egyptian bondage of the Children of Israel during the days of Moses!; This picture of the eclipse looked very similar to the Islamic crescent moon on the same day Hamas took over and launched its government in the West Bank next door to Israel. The omen of 2006 has proven to be right; nothing but trouble, travail and bloodshed has been the result of the Hamas government running the affairs of the Palestinian people. Hezbollah, Hamas’ cousins instituted a war with Israel during the summer of 2006 and with the recent assassination of one of Hezbollah’s biggest leaders, war looms on the horizon once again. According to Bible scholars, the stars actually foretold the birth of Moses. Three years before the birth of Moses, Jupiter and Saturn were in conjunction in the constellation Pisces. Josephus, Abarbanel, Eliazar and other historians affirm that Egyptian astronomers interpreted this sign as an indicator that a great man would be born among the Jews. Perhaps this is why Pharaoh placed heavier workloads on the Hebrews. Years later another cosmic event happened between 3 and 2 B.C. that would have served as a sign of the birth of the King of the Jews. According to research and historical fact, there was a series of conjunctions that involved the planet Jupiter. In 3 B.C. Jupiter, the planet representing King David was in conjunction with Regulus, the star of kingship, in the constellation Leo the Lion, considered to represent the tribe of Judah. This conjunction in the lion would have served as a sign of the birth of a leader. In both events, the slaughter of innocent children followed seeking to destroy a deliverer!!!!! In 1973, the devil pushed through a damnable law in Roe. V. Wade which legalized abortion. A well-known prophetic voice said the Lord told him that this too was an effort to destroy a generation of young men and women God had ordained to preach the gospel unlike it’s ever been preached before to pave the way for the return of the Lord during His Second Advent just as John the Baptist and his prophetic message paved the way for the Lord’s first advent. Millions have been killed but thousands survived this effort since 1973. It is the opinion of this writer that those who survived will be used in some of the most riveting powerful ministries known to mankind to bring deliverance to THIS generation. Satan has always tried to destroy God’s plan by killing babies. A unique common denominator between ALL of these events is cosmic signs in the heavens like the one we saw last night. These same two stars- Regulus and Leo, played a key role in last night’s lunar eclipse and I believe is just another “sign” in the heaven that is heralding the coming of the Lord very very soon. The Rapture of the Church could take place at any moment. In addition, these signs are yet another warning to a world years in rebellion against God that a coming travail upon Planet Earth will be on the heels of the Rapture known as the Great Tribulation period when the moon will literally “become as blood,” a reference used as well during Wednesday night’s lunar eclipse. The KING is Coming! We got news this morning following Wednesday’s Blood Moon that a 6.0 earthquake rattled Nevada hours before our embassy in Serbia was sacked and burned. Another shaking of the Earth as well another shaking in America’s place in the World followed a riveting display of the heavenlies. Neighbor, it’s getting late and the clock on God’s prophetic time clock says “ten to midnight.” Hear this writer. There is no greater need for the American church at this moment in history than to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ like we’ve never preached it before! There is no greater need in the time of all history for the Church to become the greatest instrument of intercession and travail for the souls of men than RIGHT NOW. There is no greater need for the church of the Living God to get it’s head out of the Purpose Driven Life module of ministry and get it’s head back in the WORD OF GOD and get full of the Holy Ghost so it can once more become a prophetic voice to this generation warning it of the late hour we live. The days we live in warrant we be preaching Christ and Him Crucified and Christ ALONE! Christ is the ONLY way to God, period. There is no debate and no other discussion when it comes to that statement. JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN REACH AND KNOW GOD. The way you know Christ is to come through the CROSS, not through humanistic psychology or any other self-help means. It’s getting late friend. It was a riveting portrait last night watching as the moon turned red knowing the ramifications of prophetic events on the near horizon. Keep your eyes on Israel and continue to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. I shared with my wife the other night that I feel deep in my soul that something is up in the Spirit World over both America and Israel. The travail of the heavenlies is being seen each day with earthquakes, powerful, deadly historical tornadoes, floods, snowstorms and then drought in some places in our nation at the same time. These are not acts of “mother” nature or coincidences as some cabbage for brain preachers allude to and insinuate. I pray you know the Lord today. The time is short and we must be making our calling and election sure at all costs. Our eternal souls DO depend on that decision and effort today. Let me mention a bit about Saturn and Regulus. The event in the sky last night I believe very may well be like an important signature on a signed legal document. Saturn is the King Planet and wears the crown (Saturn is most known for its unique rings). It stands for Jehovah or YHWH. Saturn stands for the harvest and the sickle and also the Judge (all info from Wikipedia). When Saturn was first observed by Galileo Galilei in 1610 with his telescope he wrote “The planet Saturn is not alone, but is composed of three.” Regulus stands for Jesus and is the brightest star in the Leo constellation. Regulus is positioned at the center of Leo’s chest – that’s how Regulus got its name “heart of the lion”. The process for a legal document after the signing is delivery and carrying the order out. I will be watching intently the next few days to see what might happen. For example the day that this occurred is Adar 14 (as Wade Balzer mentioned in his post) which normally is Purim. This is a leap year and so Adar 14 is called Purim Katan. See how on this date Esther petitioned the king: Esther 9 13Then said Esther, If it please the king, let it be granted to the Jews which are in Shushan to do to morrow also according unto this day's decree, and let Haman's ten sons be hanged upon the gallows. Esther 9 discusses Adar 13, 14 & 15 so I would definitely be watching through February 22nd. Also it may be a 30 day notice as Purim is March 21st this year and lands between Palm Sunday and Easter. Also, February 22nd happens to be 153 days after September 22nd 2007 which was Yom Kippur this year (Day of Atonement or Judgment). Why do you think the King/crown planet and the heart of the Lion would be on either side of the Moon which stands for the Bride? I believe that it signals that we shall indeed be delivered shortly. What does Satan think about all of this? When the Rapture occurs and the antichrist is revealed he knows he has precious little time to work with. He is already working out his plan of deception. Aliens will be the explanation for the missing persons and he will attempt to bring the peoples & governments together to prepare for an alien attack which in fact will be Jesus Christ and his returning saints for the battle of Armageddon. [Psalm 147:4 KJV] What to Look For The heavens will be declaring extraordinary things this week as portrayed by a conjunction of Venus, Saturn and the Moon with Regulus in the constellation Leo. Venus will be “in the rising” (Strong’s #395, anatole, Matthew 2:2) very early in the morning (approximately 320 am) this week. This is a very early rising for Venus, it is the earliest rising this year (and next year) (Mark 1:35). For observations purposes, trying to observe Venus this early will be difficult without an unobstructed view of the lower eastern horizon. By sunrise, Venus will be approximately 40 degrees above the horizon. Sunrise will occur at approximately 650 am local time this week. Shortly after Venus rises, another (much dimmer) planet will rise to the lower left of Venus. This is Saturn; it will have a mellow yellowish appearance. Almost directly between the two planets (slightly up and to the left) will be the blue-white 1st magnitude star Regulus (in Leo). On Saturday October 6th, the waning moon will be above Venus. On Sunday October 7th, the waning moon will be inside the triangle made by the other three celestial objects. As the week progresses, Venus will drift south of Regulus and by Sunday the 14th, will drift south of Saturn. Also as the week progresses, the moon will continue to wane until it disappears Tuesday or Wednesday and reappears as a New Moon (waxing) on Thursday the 11th (the 1st day of Marcheshvan). The Symbolism Venus: Venus represents Jesus Christ as the bright and morning star, or the bride of Christ, or both (Christ in relation to His church) depending upon the particular circumstances. The Hebrew name for Venus is Nogah, which means “bright.” In the Planisphere of Dendera (cir. approx. 2000 BC), Venus is shown as a female figure (the bride of Christ). I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. [Revelation 22:16 KJV] [Thyatira] (26) And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: (27) And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. (28) And I will give him the morning star. [Revelation 2:26-28 KJV] [1] In this context, Venus appears to be representing both Christ and the bride, especially as Venus passes Saturn during the week. Saturn: Saturn can represent either Satan or the Sabbath or both depending upon the particular circumstances. When the context is a portrayal of the battle between the woman and her seed, and the serpent and his seed (Genesis 3:15), Saturn is seen to represent Satan. Saturn’s proximity to (underneath) Regulus clearly represents this conflict (see explanation under Regulus), but may also indicate the Sabbath as Venus passes by. The Moon: The moon represents spiritual renewal (because of the monthly cycle of light and darkness). The moon also represents the reflection of God’s glory. Just as one cannot look directly into the light of the sun, likewise no man can look directly upon God. One can however look directly at the moon which reflects the light of the sun. Likewise, one can look upon the Son, a reflection of the Father. The moon is also the faithful witness, the token of the Davidic Covenant, and as such is a picture of Jesus Christ. Selah. [Psalm 89:37 NKJ] A new moon (which occurs during this period of time) represents a new beginning. New moons are always significant according to Hebraic understanding since they set the foundation for the timing of other important dates that follow the new moon (weekly Sabbath, feast days, full moon, etc.). Leo: The constellation Leo (Hebrew Arieh, the lion) represents Jesus Christ as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5); the Messiah the King (Mashiach Nagid, Daniel 9:25) crushing the enemy (Genesis 3:15, Romans 16:20); the Messiah coming in righteous judgment (Revelation 19:1); and the Messiah as a light to the nations (Gentiles) (Luke 2:32). It also represents the tribe of Judah and the House of Judah. Regulus: Regulus is the brightest star (¬) in Leo. Therefore the meaning of its name sets the foundation for the story told by the other star names in the constellation. The name Regulus means “kingly” in Latin, [2] but can be traced back to the Hebrew root regel, which means “feet.” From ancient times, Regulus has been known as the “King Star” not merely because it is the brightest star in Leo (the lion, the king of beasts), but because of its uniqueness in the heavens. Just as earthly kings were “uncommon personages among the human population, a star like Regulus is also uncommon among the stellar population.” [3] “Its spectral class is B7; one of the very small minority of those born with enough mass to occupy an exalted station near the top of the main sequence of star classification.”[ 4] Although secular astronomers portray Regulus as the “heart” of the lion (which is not entirely inaccurate), Regulus is actually “between his feet” (Genesis 49:10). Regulus represents “the feet that crush” (Genesis 3:15, Romans 16:20). The idea of authority in general and kingship in particular in the Bible is directly related to “feet” (consider Abraham and Joshua, and Psalm 110:1, Isaiah 66:1). From the earliest times, all ancient civilizations recognized Regulus as the King Star of all the Mazzaroth (Job 38:22), even though there are many stars that are brighter. It is the King of the Heavens. Summary The close proximity of Venus, Saturn, and the Moon, with Regulus, in Leo, represents the themes of: Jesus Christ, the bride of Christ, Satan, the Sabbath (rest), spiritual renewal, and crushing the enemy underfoot. The positions and motions of the celestial objects specify and reinforce the themes of: a season of transition, spiritual renewal and new beginnings (the New Moon); the bride of Christ entering into a season of new beginning and rest (Venus passing by Saturn); and (by) crushing the enemy underfoot (Saturn underneath Regulus). The timing of the events signifies: Jesus Christ in His role as High Priest and Intercessor rising a “great while before day” to intercede for His bride. The timing of the events also further reinforces the theme of renewal and new beginning since the waning and waxing moons mark the ending of Tishri (the 7th month) and the beginning of Marcheshvan (the 8th month) of the Hebrew calendar. Post Script: Although not necessarily unusual since they are permanently associated with Leo, but present nonetheless, are the three decans Hydra (the Serpent), Crater (the Cup) and Corvus (the Raven). Hydra, the Serpent, is conspicuously under the feet of Leo, reinforcing the theme of crushing the enemy underfoot. Crater, the Cup, represents the cup of God’s wrath poured out on His enemies. Crater rests directly upon the serpent (Hydra). Corvus (the Raven), which represents birds of prey devouring the serpent (Rev. 19:17-21).
