It is wonderful to see that the Republican Party has chosen John McCain as its probable nominee. We won't have to listen to Ron Paul talking about freedom and restoring the Constitution and a sound monetary system anymore. We can now move on as a nation with open borders, higher taxes, runaway inflation, more manufacturing jobs moving out of America, higher gas prices, a national ID card where our government can keep track of us 24 hours a day, a private banking system called the Federal Reserve system that can cause boom or bust at any time, a 100-year war with Iraq, our troops in every nation. We won't have to listen to Paul wanting to restore the republic that our forefathers set up. What a waste of time to think we can become a nation of freedoms again. We need to continue paying our income taxes so that we can pay the interest on our national debt. It's great to see that the Republican Party wants to remain status quo and not interrupt any of our systems all in the name of democracy. Congratulations to the Republicans that voted for John McCain. MIKE MONAGHAN

With that in mind, I fully expect Paul to campaign against Clinton and McCain with equal vigor for the presidency.
Ron Paul was a 'reluctant' candidate for POTUS who apparently always intended to operate from within the GOP as a Congresscritter. The "That's what I want them to think®" bluff really only served to get our hopes up that Ron would actually carry on to November and at least give Americans an American choice for POTUS in 40-some States. Oh well, the next chapter is already here...
There's a banner to give me nightmares. And what comes next? Chelsea Clinton with George Prescott Bush as her running mate?
That would be like uniting the Montagues and Capulets or the Hatfields and McCoy's except for the simple fact that the Bush's and Clinton's don't have any real differences and don't hate each other.
Bush today at the groundbreaking on the Mall for a MLK Jr. memorial: I particularly want to thank my predecessor, the man who signed the legislation to create this memorial, President Bill Clinton. It sounds like to me they haven't forgotten you yet. He's become, as you know, my fourth brother.
It would be a terrible tragedy--simply terrible--if anything ever happened to those two "brothers." What a heart rending time for the country. I don't know if I can go on, just thinking about it I get all overcome with emotion. Y'know?
Yes. I do. The thought of anything happening to those two noble patriots paralyzes me.
