I agreed with him too.

The way Obama dumped him under the bus was to characterize Wright's statements as being the emotional reaction which blacks understandably feel because of the racism that they've been subjected to. Obama painted Wright as a good man who suffers from the racism which not only blacks but all good people in America, from his white grandmother who Obama said made bigoted remarks, to middle-class people who lose a promotion that they blame on affirmative action, have been victimized by.

So Obama didn't show the respect to Wright (or anyone else who thinks the same about US foreign policy) to engage the substance of his ideas. Obama tried to ascribe everything to the tragic effects of racism, like the way spicy foods can cause a nightmare.
