Should suburbanites take care of their own needy?

Detroit's mayor has exhumed the deceased N-word that was so ceremoniously buried this past year -- with Kwame Kilpatrick's use of it in the State of the City address. And then City Council issued a new edict of no federal funding for Detroit charities with boards controlled by suburbanites (meaning whites).

Our church in Troy has been tending to the needy of the inner city with food, gifts at Christmas and deliveries of clothing and bedding to the homeless who live in the tunnels under parts of the city.

Perhaps we should change our mission, tend to the needy suburbanites and allow Detroit to continue the stellar job of taking care of their own.

I think Kwame should consider running for governor of NY, as that office is currently held by a blind Affirmative Action hire who is in the process of doing a Spitzer.

A niggardly position.

I've already said too much.

I take it not enough of the loot was making it's way into the hands of the City Council?

That's the main reason that we give to the Salvation Army and let them figger it out - they've been in that business a looooooooong time.

Charity begins at home.

America is not at war. The military is at war. America is at the mall and the Congress is out to lunch.

And with one's own money.

The truth is that responsible Southerners have deliberately weakened their own defense because of their unwillingness to raise the underlying problem. They talk of states’ rights when they should be talking anthropology, and they do so out of instinctive human kindness. There is a point at which kindness imposed upon ceases to be a virtue.

That's downright UnAmerican to say nowadays!
