The truth is that responsible Southerners have deliberately weakened their own defense because of their unwillingness to raise the underlying problem. They talk of states’ rights when they should be talking anthropology, and they do so out of instinctive human kindness. There is a point at which kindness imposed upon ceases to be a virtue.

Not very original, I've said that myself regarding attitudes about Obama over 2 weeks ago. And I've read similar sentiments and statements online about Obama.

I guess the point is he expressed a desire to have our pols experience a prolonged, underwater event. He said this w/o fear, and never let on it was a joke, altho I assume it was. I'm also thinking he feels comfortable that our 1st Amendment still offers protection.

Michael Savage (Wiener) certainly does.

I'll never forget what a newly converted Jewish co-worker (he was raised Lutheran but his mother is Jewish) reported one morning about what Savage said on the radio. This coworker was absolutely stunned. He told me, and I later verified online that Savage said "Kill all the Muslims" (or maybe it was only 100 million) on his show that morning.

This is what Goldi & Jim Robinson have said. As have many on their forums. Now my question is this; given the Bush doctrine of preemption, why isn't it a valid position for a concerned citizen(s) to wonder, out loud, if it isn't patriotic to remove the next genocidal mass murdering Hitler-type from the stage? Never intending to take action, mind you, just to wish it were so.

I'll join in a little harmless speculation. I wonder how long the most offensive members of the Bush regime will last after they leave office (assuming they do)? They have created so many enemies around the world, that even with a small (or in Cheney's case large) private army of Blackwater types, where on this planet will they feel safe? I really don't know.
