Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama suggested Wednesday that Jesus Christ is not the only way to heaven during a campaign event in North Carolina. "Pull my finger..." While answering a question about his Christian faith, Obama said he believes that Jesus Christ died for his sins and through God’s grace and mercy he could have “everlasting life,” according to the Los Angeles Times. But he also believes Jews and Muslims and non-believers who live moral lives are as much “children of God” as he is, according to The Associated Press. As an example, he spoke about his late mother who was “not a believer.” "[S]he was the kindest, most decent, generous person that I have ever known," Obama said, according to the Times. "I'm sure she is in heaven, even though she may not have subscribed to everything that I subscribe to." Obama’s response amid the recent controversy surrounding his former Chicago pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who made inflammatory remarks about race and America in sermons he delivered many years ago. The Illinois senator, who has made religion a cornerstone of his campaign, has denounced the comments – which included “God damn America” for its racism – but refuses to distance himself from the pastor, whom he compares to an uncle. During his response on Wednesday, Obama praised his church, Trinity United Church of Christ, especially its choir, and said it was very warm and welcoming and is like any other church in America in that it exists to praise God. Obama also said he believes in putting the Gospel to action here on Earth and treating people with “dignity” and “respect” as children of God, according to the Los Angeles Times. Currently, Obama is leading the Democratic race with 1,622 delegates compared to Hillary Clinton’s 1,485, according to CNN.

Barry clearly doesn't know thing one about Christianity, which is not surprising given his church affiliation. This doesn't disqualify him from the presidency, but it renders moot any statement he makes about his 'faith'. John 14:6 "I am the the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except by me. Like hellary and McCanus, the more talks, the more he sucks.

thanks for that bible quote. don't put me down as being on one side or another, I don't even know what Liberation Theology is. I'm not going to vote for Obama as he is pro-war and a tool for the man. However, I will tend to defend the actual statements attributed to him in the article above rather than the headline. christians shouldn't be arrogant & proud when it comes to judgement. The bible tells us not to be so in fact, it tells us that when judgement comes many people who say they are christian will be surprised in being rejected. It tells us that god's standards will be used not man's. and it is true that many will be excluded from the kingdom that is coming, a great separation of people will occur. and all people who are now either living or dead will be judged and then either allowed to live in this coming kingdom or excluded. The bible also tells us that god is a spirit. It also tells us that people outside the faith can be judged positively in this time of judgement if they practice their faiths and are pious. I wish I remembered the verses that I read that tells me this, but I am a witness that it is there. It also tells us that god's sympathy for the cries of the poor here on earth who will not be able to live as the world is arranged by the rule of man here on earth will be the actual trigger for god to release violence on earth to end things as we know it. a great wrath will come to the earth, the worst time of all for the people to survive. it is only after these things happen that jesus will return and this judgement will occur and the building of this new kingdom. in fact the bible strongly recommends for us also to have great sympathy for the poor. When jesus was asked in matthew 24 to describe these 'end times' he did so and then in Matthew 25 he described the judgement that would occur immediately after 24's events. He says explicitly that he will come to people as a poor person in great need while we were alive. and then at judgement he would remember those who helped that poor person and reject the rest. www.blueletterbible.org/k...5.html?q=matthew%2025#top there are many things in the bible, even some that seem contradictory of each other. and interpretation is difficult with many interpreations by many people.

Brother Red, I read the Word the way I read the Constitution and use as much training on it as I can...it is what it is. I don't know how much more the Lord could have been, for me, for you, for everyone including ALL Men and Women, period. I appreciate your input. It really is time to get serious with Him and press in, I have to admit that's the ONLY hope left for all with eyes to see and ears to hear.
