Gallup: Obama lead over Clinton largest this year

by Mike Dorning

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Barack Obama now has a 10-percentage point lead over Hillary Clinton in a national tracking poll conducted by Gallup, the largest lead he has posted in the poll this year.

Gallup reported Obama now leads among Democrats 52 percent against 42 percent for Hillary Clinton, the third day in a row he has held a statistically significant lead against Clinton in the poll.

The movement in the national poll follows a week in which Clinton was widely lampooned for exaggerated accounts she gave of a visit to Bosnia in which she claimed she ran for cover under sniper fire. After the pilot of her plane and reporters who were on the trip with her disputed the account, she conceded she her account was a "mistake" and chalked the incident up to campaign-trail fatigure. But the exaggeration rapidly became fodder for late-night comics and video spoofs on the Internet.

Allies of Barack Obama, most notably Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), also last week promoted arguments that Clinton now has little chance of winning the Democratic nomination and that a prolonged Democratic primary would damage the eventual nominee.

The tracking poll averages polling over the past three days. Gallup noted Obama's strongest lead was in polling conducted on Saturday, the most recent day included.

It's an all male club, they're not letting the bitch in. It's also an all white male club. We'll see if that changes.

The Pa. vote will give you a good indication...not just winner or loser but a true indication of how the gender/race people voted.

In other words, the cities will go for Obama, that is a given, how the rest of the state votes is what is important.

have switched to Dimrats last week so that we can vote for the O'Bamer.

thats great news.

hilary was a crook with her husband in Arkansas. McCain is a war-nut. perhaps he will be the guy. a non-white image as robin says is unprecedented in presidents. perhaps he will usher in legislation that greatly increases immigration here and makes america a nation where whites are not the majority. the people who rule us do have an eye for history.

Obama is also extremely pro-war, he wishes to keep the big bases in Iraq & use them to launch attacks on others. he'll say he wants to bring the troops home, but he only wants to bring home some. and at any provocation he wants to go again somewhere else.

in 2004 a poll showed that 55% of americans wanted to pull the troops out. and we had 2 presidential candidates who favored the war. now about 70% favor withdrawal of all troops. & the 3 candidates left are all pro-war.

but its great at least to try to do something about it.

There's nothing quite like pulling the lever for an establishment goon and proudly proclaiming such news on a freedom web site.

The key votes in Pennsylvania will be cat by Jews and by Catholics. Obama has done poorly amongst Catholics to date and the Jewish leadership is coming out against Obama.

I would not put much faith in the Gallup poll as it is biased towards Democrats. The Gallup poll taken the weekend before the 1980 election showed Jimmy Carter 3 points ahead of Reagan.

The Zogby poll has McCain leading by 7 points. Zogby is a Democrat and an Arab. I seriously doubt Zogby will vote for McCain.
