Ventura would *occasionally* get things right here: he phased out emission testing as a requirement to get tabs, and he was quite (properly) outspoken against public funding for sports stadiums (fat lotta good that did us, as they are now being built).

But when he was wrong, he was as stupidly wrong as he could be: 12 miles of light rail from the Mall of America to downtown Minneapolis as a solution to 'ease congestion.' Many hundreds of millions have been wasted on this pipe dream that has actually made congestion on the Hiawatha corridor worse.

At the end of the day, Ventura is a self-aggrandizing gasbag, who thinks that his doofy proclamations are pearls of wisdom for the masses (not unlike Jr.).
