thanks for thinking of me. but it wouldn't have worked for me to go to airport. I'm just glad to hear from afar your adventures.
I think maybe the 6 million figure is for the whole state. Phoenix metro area is about 4 million though. It is massive in area though, very spread out.
but it wouldn't have worked for me to go to airport.
Yeh I am not into torture.
I really think the flight I took from LAX to P was over I -10 , the plane took the same route as the interstate.
The jet flew endlessly over populated areas and flew over a mountain with a pile of radio transmiters to the south of what I think was the central city, and at the time I was thinking " How is the pilot going to ever find the landing strip in all this mess".
Well he some how zeroded in on a small patch of concrete and landed there. In what I think was the middle of the city.
Your city is a lot bigger than I was aware of. A heck of a lot bigger.
yes, you were flying over I-10 which goes directly west to LA. from the very farthest west suburb of Goodyear to the very furthest eastern suburb of Apache Junction is about 70 miles of nothing but houses. the north-south dimension is a little smaller. The airport is just east of downtown Phoenix. We're almost the only big city that has the airport right in the middle. The mountain you saw on the south is called 'South Mountain'. It is a federal park actually. and there are a lot of houses even south of south Mountain.
