Congrats for making the correct choice.

Obamer may not be perfect but, at least, he does not seem to be insane, or obsessed, or senile. When compared with the more recent 'choices' America had to select from: Bobdole, Algore, Clinton, W, Clinton again, W again, Kerry, McCain... we're talking the one-eyed man dominating the blind.

He may not be the bestest but he is CLEARLY and BY FAR the better man.

Somewhere today there was an assessment that democrats will have a comfortable control of both Houses of Congress in 2009. With Obummer or Clinton in the White House we would have the same opportunity as we had with Bush.

That opportunity was lost with the aid and comfort of the democrats in Congress, should we expect any difference this time?

Come on, people. Do you REALLY believe that you are the last 2 sane humans around? Maybe you shouldn't take yourselves so seriously all the time.

Obamer is unlikely to torture people, bomb Third worlders, expand the military-congressional-industrial complex and run the country head-first into more globalism, outsourcing and Chinese-defined 'free trade'. What's wrong with that? Would you rather have Clinton 2 or Bush 3?

He may not be the bestest but he is CLEARLY and BY FAR the better man.

Ron Paul *may* qualify for bestest, which speaks volumes about the standard politicians.

As for the worstest, McCain could very well qualify.

On the ongoing argument of Cain vs Obama vs Hillary, we already know Cain will be horrible. With Obama, we can at least afford some doubts that he'll be as bad as Cain.

Whoever wins will inherit a disaster though, and I predict will be only a 1 term pres.

Oh, but, of course, you can never fully trust a human. I maintain 'unlikely' but I would not go as far as 'very unlikely'. He MIGHT order some bombs dropped on Sudan. It's not likely but it's possible. However, I can't see him considering nukeing anyone while McCain probably dreams of mushroom clouds and Hillary would view dropping the big one as a way of her claiming her manhood.

I agree that Mr. Paul is the better man. However, he dropped out, or so it seems. He refused to listen to my advice of going independent BEFORE the primaries. We still have Bob Barr, a man for whom I have an enormous respect. I might vote for Mr. Barr if he manages to get himself registered in PA. We shall see.

And, a gentle reminder - you said you would never support one of the '2 parties'. Well... Mr. Paul would have been a candidate of the GOPs (one of the 2 parties) had he won the GOP nomination.

I don't want to call anyone 'a racist', even though I have no problem calling myself so - I would NOT move into a black neighborhood, for example, and I would not be happy if many blacks began moving into mine which makes me a racist - but there are degrees of racism on a scale that ranges from 'healthy' (my kind) to 'sick'.

I see Lou Dobbs (a most confused man) turning into a Clintonist only because he wants Obama to lose. I believe he wants him to lose because Obama dared diss him, calling the Dobbs name in the same sentence that had Rush and some other idiots in it. Somehow, being dissed by Obama left an open, festering wound, or so it seems.

The Obamacons here are in denial, very naive, and weak in true principles. They are closet socialists pinkos, while pretending to be independent constitutionalists.

A few here have lost some serious credibility.

Hate laws, speech laws, war lite, UN carbon taxes, amnesty, gun laws, more taxes for health care and to prop up homes, etc....

Sounds great.

James...

I have been around forums, chat rooms etc on the internet for over ten years.

Wish I had kept track of the names people have appended, plus the descriptions of my intelligence etc. Most were bad, maybe one or two could be termed questionable.

In this rant there is a nugget of truth about human nature. Namely, in my long life, other than the military, I recall only one or two people that have had the effrontery to speak their minds in front of me in a derogatory manner.

However, on the internet there is no such limit as to the vitriol unleashed.

Shrinks say it has something to do with being able to hide and say bad things without punishment. Human nature.

Better not to use the word "ilk". It's a favorite of the neocons and of the denizens of Free Republic.

To reason, indeed, he was not in the habit of attending. His mode of arguing, if it is to be so called, was one not uncommon among dull and stubborn persons, who are accustomed to be surrounded by their inferiors. He asserted a proposition; and, as often as wiser people ventured respectfully to show that it was erroneous, he asserted it again, in exactly the same words, and conceived that, by doing so, he at once disposed of all objections. - Macaulay, "History of England," Vol. 1, Chapter 6, on James II.

I think that everyone that "The Toddler" thought of as an "ink" had fun with it. No one took it too seriously.

Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end.

I like Lou .... most of the time.

He's right on the border and economic protectionism, but little else ... gubmint schools for on example.

Pay close attention to what he's saying and you may be able to detect the statist, hiding under several layers of populism and emotional outrages.

His dream state is a most efficient and orderly state - efficient border control is only the beginning - where commerce, income, individual behavior, just about everything are tightly regulated and maintained within the proper standards of decency and efficiency. He doesn't like the Iraq situation but mostly because it was not well-thought and because it proves to be wasteful. He seems to believe that Iran is our enemy and anything worse than our invasion and occupation of Iraq is Iran's gaining influence in 'our' Iraq.

Oh, and don't get me started on his 99% so-called polls.

Better not to use the word "ilk". It's a favorite of the neocons and of the denizens of Free Republic.

Another perfectly good word spoiled, like gay? :-(

I agree with most of your post, but a nation that refuses to protect its borders and thereby its sovereignty is no nation at all.

Clearly, the government needs to watch the borders or why are they taking our tax money for?

In the case of Dobbs, notice how he is against illegals but he NEVER calls for their deportation. In fact, he proudly proclaims that he NEVER-EVER called for such a thing. He is against the 2 parties and he encourages everyone to quit the Demo-GOP but he does not suggest any alternative. He just encourages people to drop out so that they play no role whatsoever in governing the country. He appears to be against the occupation of Iraq but, for some strange reason, he seems to believe that Iran is our greatest enemy and he finds in unacceptable for Iran to oppose 'our' aggressive presence all around Iran's borders.

So, my question is... 'what is Dobbs exactly about'?

It only has three letters, one syllable, thus is easy for the denizens of Café Paranoia to remember. This is no surprise it is popular there.

I was a regular viewer of the Dobbs show during that period when he was fighting for the release of Campean(sp)/Ramos.

Another criminal act that has disappeared down the hidey hole with the rest of Bush/Clinton criminality.

Personally, I think I should be Dictator-for-Life.

I'd bring all the troops home, close down the Federal Reserve, cork all chickenhawks on the arm then deport them, get rid of the IRS, close down 90% of the federal government, then spend the rest of my time gambling, drinking, chasing women and growing roses.

If you manage to get the dictatorship job then, like the Mao worshipers used to say, 'may you live a thousand years'.

I like Lou .... most of the time.

He's right on the border and economic protectionism, but little else ... gubmint schools for on example.

Dobbs is outraged by illegal immigration but he NEVER called for the illegals' deportation. In fact, his not calling for their deportation is a matter of great pride to him.

He is against 'both' parties and he encourages everyone to quit them but he offers no alternative. So, in effect, he's asking everyone to completely remove themselves from the political process and, in practice, cleanse or purge the 2 parties of all dissidents without building a force to oppose them.

Dobbs is unhappy with the Iraq occupation but, it seems to me, he is so only because it's done inefficiently. Somehow, he believes that Iran has no right to be concerned about hundreds of thousands of US troops at their border.

He is against free trade but he opposes US tariffs on imported goods.

He is against outsourcing of jobs but the only solution to highly educated Americans losing their jobs is... education.

After he encourages everyone to leave the Demo and the GOP parties, he is somewhat outraged that 'the people' are not allowed to express their will in the Demo and GOP primaries. He also seems to have turned into a full-time Hillary supporter as he seems to have a small-man grudge and want to demonstrate that Obama can't mess with him and get away with it.

He is the same guy that ridiculed our efforts to get Ron Paul elected. He is not worth reading, much less replying to.
