Maybe it's the food. My company's cafeteria switched today to 'eatcomplete', which means that they are serving COLORful (hint, hint) veggies and beans and LEAN (hint) meats. And, today, we all got a free banana.

I see Lou Dobbs (a most confused man) turning into a Clintonist only because he wants Obama to lose. I believe he wants him to lose because Obama dared diss him, calling the Dobbs name in the same sentence that had Rush and some other idiots in it.

I have been around forums, chat rooms etc on the internet for over ten years.

Wish I had kept track of the names people have appended, plus the descriptions of my intelligence etc. Most were bad, maybe one or two could be termed questionable.

In this rant there is a nugget of truth about human nature. Namely, in my long life, other than the military, I recall only one or two people that have had the effrontery to speak their minds in front of me in a derogatory manner.

However, on the internet there is no such limit as to the vitriol unleashed.

Shrinks say it has something to do with being able to hide and say bad things without punishment. Human nature.

Better not to use the word "ilk". It's a favorite of the neocons and of the denizens of Free Republic.

To reason, indeed, he was not in the habit of attending. His mode of arguing, if it is to be so called, was one not uncommon among dull and stubborn persons, who are accustomed to be surrounded by their inferiors. He asserted a proposition; and, as often as wiser people ventured respectfully to show that it was erroneous, he asserted it again, in exactly the same words, and conceived that, by doing so, he at once disposed of all objections. - Macaulay, "History of England," Vol. 1, Chapter 6, on James II.

Pay close attention to what he's saying and you may be able to detect the statist, hiding under several layers of populism and emotional outrages.

His dream state is a most efficient and orderly state - efficient border control is only the beginning - where commerce, income, individual behavior, just about everything are tightly regulated and maintained within the proper standards of decency and efficiency. He doesn't like the Iraq situation but mostly because it was not well-thought and because it proves to be wasteful. He seems to believe that Iran is our enemy and anything worse than our invasion and occupation of Iraq is Iran's gaining influence in 'our' Iraq.

Oh, and don't get me started on his 99% so-called polls.

Clearly, the government needs to watch the borders or why are they taking our tax money for?

In the case of Dobbs, notice how he is against illegals but he NEVER calls for their deportation. In fact, he proudly proclaims that he NEVER-EVER called for such a thing. He is against the 2 parties and he encourages everyone to quit the Demo-GOP but he does not suggest any alternative. He just encourages people to drop out so that they play no role whatsoever in governing the country. He appears to be against the occupation of Iraq but, for some strange reason, he seems to believe that Iran is our greatest enemy and he finds in unacceptable for Iran to oppose 'our' aggressive presence all around Iran's borders.

So, my question is... 'what is Dobbs exactly about'?

I like Lou .... most of the time.

He's right on the border and economic protectionism, but little else ... gubmint schools for on example.

Dobbs is outraged by illegal immigration but he NEVER called for the illegals' deportation. In fact, his not calling for their deportation is a matter of great pride to him.

He is against 'both' parties and he encourages everyone to quit them but he offers no alternative. So, in effect, he's asking everyone to completely remove themselves from the political process and, in practice, cleanse or purge the 2 parties of all dissidents without building a force to oppose them.

Dobbs is unhappy with the Iraq occupation but, it seems to me, he is so only because it's done inefficiently. Somehow, he believes that Iran has no right to be concerned about hundreds of thousands of US troops at their border.

He is against free trade but he opposes US tariffs on imported goods.

He is against outsourcing of jobs but the only solution to highly educated Americans losing their jobs is... education.

After he encourages everyone to leave the Demo and the GOP parties, he is somewhat outraged that 'the people' are not allowed to express their will in the Demo and GOP primaries. He also seems to have turned into a full-time Hillary supporter as he seems to have a small-man grudge and want to demonstrate that Obama can't mess with him and get away with it.
