BAGHDAD, April 7 (KUNA) -- The US military in Iraq said on Monday that another US soldier was killed last night, raising the day's death toll of US soldiers killed in one day to seven.

The army said in a press release that the soldier died of heavy sustained injuries when a bomb exploded near his vehicle in Diyala east of Baghdad, where he was witnessing fierce clashes between militias and Multi-National Forces (MNF).

Last night, the US military said three soldiers were killed when a mortar attack targeted their compound in the heavyily fortified green zone area. US death toll since the start of the war and until today has reached 4020, among them eight who were killed in April only.(Pickup previous) ahh.mb KUNA 071804 Apr 08NNNN
