You are correct. There is a verse somewhere that says something to the effect. That if you don't hear the word but you do the things in the law naturally it will be accounted for you as righteousness. I know I didn't get that exactly right but it is the best I can word it right now.

I wouldn't under estimate God's ability to determine what He should do with His Universe.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.

I've read, though, that a lot of those people in India still continue to worship their other household gods.

They literally put a statue of Jesus Christ on the shelf in their house with all the other gods they've traditionally worshipped.

I saw this Oprah vid a few weeks ago and I largely agreed with her also. I am a born-again Christian, but I don't presume to try to put God in a box.

Trying to anthropomorphize God is insulting to the Deity.

I got the bite put on me by higher ranking NCOs when I was in the 82nd all the way back in the late seventies to get rid of Wicca on my dog tags, find Christ and shut up about anything else, or else.

I called their bluff, and when the retaliatory article 15 came, I hired a good lawyer and took it past summary court martial to a special and had the thing thrown out.

I went to a new Battalion and became a crew chief rather then just a hanger rat and made E-5 2 years and 3 months after I had enlisted as an E-1.

Surely there is a Goddess; she took care of me when I kept the faith and stayed true to my beliefs. ;-)

Seriously though, in retrospect I should of been more polite and vague in my send off of their attempts to religiously assimilate me. As though the way I triumphed had it's pluses, not going through all that would of been preferable.

I don't underestimate how dangerous Christian fundies can be. When I dealt with them when I went back in I was allot more circumspect and careful about dealing with this particular brand of folks who in some ways are our brand of American Taliban.

Neither would I.

But if you are a believer in the Bible which claims to be Gods word. It clearly says that Jesus is the ONLY way.

Everyone is and should be free to make their own decisions of whether to believe or not. But there will be consequences for us all for our decision.

Fundies do that. CONSTANTLY.

Just try and point out the fraud of 'eternal hell' to these fundies, and they go nuts. They do love their 'hell'.

Then there is the issue of 'free will' and praying some scripted 'sinners prayer' and voila, they are 'saved'. Never mind what scripture says about it. It's silly. Almost funny too...

I love the scriptures and studying them. However, I find the Bible requires a lot of patience and study, less conversation especially arguments, and generally the Bible is more serious than its students.

Bible arguments are toxic wastes of time. Serious Bible study is a worthy pursuit, and scripture even says "STUDY" to show thyself approved.

They literally put a statue of Jesus Christ on the shelf in their house with all the other gods they've traditionally worshipped.

They can only be responsible for the amount of light that has been revealed to them. Where Oprah missed the ball here (so to speak) is to deny the light she has received:

But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few [stripes]. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. Luke 12:48

Could Oprah honestly claim, having been in church throughout her childhood and most of her adult life--assuming you can believe what she says--that she has never heard that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life?

There's another scripture that more Christians should pay attention to. It goes something like this. On judgment day many will claim to have healed the sick and cast out demons in Christ's name ... to which he will reply "depart from me, I have never known YOU" ...

I'll bet there will be wailing an gnashing of teeth at that moment.

My point was that there are many that think they know "Jesus" but don't. There are millions of Christians that are masons ... hahahaha ... and the masonic creed is satanic. Most Christians think the fake Jews are "chosen" ... celebrate the sabbath on SUN(worship)Day ... and mostly do the feel good stuff that their preacher tells em to do.

Bible students and BELIEVERS read all of the scriptures and try to their utmost to ascertain the TRUTH.

I'm not sure but there is something about "no condemnation concerning the sabbath" Something like that. I'm not sure what it means but some people think it means that we wont be condemned for not keeping the sabbath.

But I am mostly with you. The Sabbath is Saturday. We should go on Saturday.

I went to church today for the first time in a while.

I don't know of many churches that worship on Saturday.

Does that mean if a church has a sunday service they are automatically not a real church? I am honestly not sure. But I would honestly prefer that churches held their services on Saturday.

you're right Ferrett that christians don't even practice their own faith. pretty sad. but some of them can sure boast about it. bible warns against boasting, but they love to do it anyway. one of the big lessons in the bible is that people are flawed - VERY FLAWED - that we never accomplish anything of significance unless god leads us to it.

Regarding the theological controversy of the Oprah video above - the bible does say clearly that you must go through jesus to get into kingdom of heaven, but it also says that a person not indoctrinated in the faith can be accepted into the kingdom of heaven if they follow the faith they're indoctrinated to and if they are pious. It says we have consciences given to us by god and that if we are loyal to that conscience, then we can be admitted into kingdom of heaven even if not in the faith. and it also says many people in the faith will be shocked when they are rejected.

it's all in interpretation. but I do not advocate denying that jesus is god in any way.

1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
