5PM SA Local Time, 11 April 2008 South Africa Sucks Blog, hosted by Google, an alternative news site for South African news, has just been deleted, apparently for TOS violation.
It was very popular, getting close to a million hits, over three thousand articles and with a very active discussion community and usually about six regular contributors. It was a real community project and the new editors often were chosen from some of the regular commenters. It was one of the few places you could get a real feel for the day to day life and situation in South Africa. It was for the most part by South Africans but the readership and commenters were from all over the world. It also exposed the horrendous violence that the Whites of South Africa are subjected to, a subject almost completely ignored by the MSM.
I've been a regular reader and they haven't done anything differently lately that they hadn't done for over a year except get increasingly popular with an ever growing world-wide readership.
I'm sure the ANC controlled South African government hated it because it exposed their corruption, failure and incomptence.
If you have a non-politically correct blog, you need to host it yourself or expect that you might lose it at any time and without notice!
But it has been reopened. This is the information age and information cannot be suppressed any longer.
