The old divisive hamster wheel games the politicians play with us don't have much impact here. You are not going to get the same bait reactions here as you do elsewhere with some of your stuff. Have some fun talking politics in earnest and you will learn and even perhaps find things within you to share you had no idea you had. The opportunity is yours' to use or not to use. Usually people here just ignore stuff like the editorial cartoon thread or other sorts of spam. The reaction range you seek to exploit just is not here in 4UM. Also, don't let my tag line fool you. I took it and am posing the for Obama argument to promote more open and less emotionally charged dialog on the election in the style I usually do things. I find this election generally a farce of going through the motions because of political and social inertia that those who already have decided to merge our country with Mexico and Canada know they need it to continue to mask what is going on behind closed doors. I am much more interested in seeing this power elite dealt with then I am in any of the three choices our handlers have given us to Eenie, meenie, minie, mo. You are not going to understand this place unless you also read, lurk some and approach it without the preconceived notions you come here with. I like you Mud and actually think you could enjoy forum if you gave it a chance. But to do so you have to recognize you are in a sea of seasoned interlocutors who have been on many forums and don't look at many of the conventional way to do business as usual when they post here. They won't do more then let you know you are old hat at doing something out of courtesy and will move on to leave you twisting in the wind until you leave bored because nothing you usually do to tweak the nose of a venue you don't particularly like works. Nothing here is as you think you see it to be, and everyone recognizes that, so you are not going to get the reaction you seek. In any event, hope things are going good for you back in Virginia, and it's good to see you, whether I agree with your politics and belief systems or not. You should do a '4play' search and look at the big part music and music appreciation plays in the 4um and otherwise lower the guard you have up and you don't think people see there. ;-)

How at the end of the book the now thoroughly oppressed by their former comrades the pigs are cold and hungry and looking in from visiting human farmer, to pig, to farmer, to pig, and they all blur into sameness. The pigs and the old oppressors are the same. Getting Obama, Hillery or McCain in office is always going to be a game where the American people get fooled, cheated and still lose their country. That is the core point most popular in this forum. You are just not going to get people much worked up over knocking any of the three current candidates to promote any other of the three. You need to want to start taking the red pill and to look beyond that level of forum political play you show you are into with this post.

Devolve Power Outta the Federal Leviathan and Back to the States, I am coming back East this late Spring or summer. I have family business to do back there still I can't put off forever. And when I move down the I-95 corridor I fully intend on letting you know when I'm passing through. I also plan on being in Washington for the inauguration this time. I always wanted to see one, and who knows how long we will still have such a fête in this country? If we become the NAU and the Constitution and Washington become a component of a larger country in a corporate merger way, I don't expect such changes of leaders on that level will mean much anymore.

This virtual community is pretty tightly knit, so they have more impact here generally then they do at LP or FR. Interesting answers, and appreciated. In any event, it is good to see you around, and don't mind me. I am also just trying to break the ice a wee bit for some who may not know you well. Although it is true most here already know you and have been familiar with you for quite some time.

Devolve Power Outta the Federal Leviathan and Back to the States, I supported Ron Paul until the Repubs went insane and went for McInane. I do not agree with everything he proposes or believes, but unlike most candidates, he is honest, has good ethical beliefs, and could be one of the greatest presidents we have had. I would vote for Ron Paul for POTUS, and who knows, I might vote for him or Nader in the general election anyway. Allot of people here feel that with him not getting the nomination, we have lost the chance to save this country from eventual demise. And I can understand where they are coming from.

Please keep participating at 4um, but I read that you voted for bush in 2004. and for most of us we don't understand that. at least you got kicked off of FreeRepublic & that speaks well of you. but it took a long time. all of us were kicked off before you. last but not least I got to tell you that this whole thread starting with your lead seems like a FreeRepublic thread. I liked Ferret's song. I know a guy who is 75 years old. He fought in Korea & in vietnam. He was in the infantry right in the fighting in both wars. He told me all about what it was like in Korea when the chinese charged and you didn't know who would be alive and who would be dead in the morning. and you didn't even think it was likely that you yourself would survive very long. but while in vietnam his foot was blown off. he's got a fake leg from below the knee. and he was mustered out of the army after 18 years, 2 years short of a retirement pension. and he makes $637 a month in social security. lives in part of a trailer he rents with no toilet, no shower, his only running water is a hose- bibb outside. His neighbors let him use theirs facilities sometimes. He wants me to help him find a section 8 house. He'll be on a waiting list for a year at least from what I'm told. he can't afford anything else. why am I telling you this? because some of our people are down-trodden. and those freepers just laugh about it and support the politicians who have changed things up to harm them. the guy I told you about makes so little because after he got out of the army he accomplished nothing good in his life. He didn't pay much into the social security program and so he gets very little out of it. but he spent 18 years in the army and fought in 2 wars. Didn't just serve, he fought, he killed many men and saw many die and was lucky to have survived. and he gets $637 a month. Today a much smaller proportion of our adult population actually have jobs as compared to pre-2000. I know we had 69% of all adults aged 21-65 having jobs in our country in 2000 and now I believe that figure is around 62%. The things that the fellow was singing about in ferret's song are very real. Freepers laugh about these things. that's a reason why freepers are idiots.
